Seriously weak coffee. Had both the dark roast (tasted like medium) and medium roast (just tasted watered down).Prices are decent and staff are friendly, though.

Attended a CBC radio live show taping last weekend. The owners were so welcoming and helpful. They hosted a terrific - full on busy - event. Food and coffee flowed smoothly. Everything was excellent. Was my first visit - but not my last by any means. A terrific new find.

Serious Coffee has great coffee (and snacks). I had an unfortunate experience with a senior member of staff today.I bought my sandwich and sat down to eat it and work on school work inside. As it became a little more busy I was essentially told to leave since new customers wanted seating (I had been seated for an hour at this point). Granted I had finished eating, I was not really ready to leave and perhaps I may have been interested in enjoying a hot beverage at a later time..This really wouldn’t bother me as the seating capacity here is low but there were still seats available elsewhere inside and all seats were available outside.If it is the intention for the café to limit people’s stay to a certain time, then I feel this should be posted clearly in the café.

One of the best cheese scones I've ever had. Fresh, generous size, and moist, happily served with a smile from Mona. If you are lucky, they'll still have some at 10am.

Came here to try out Nainaimo bar. Nainaimo bar has a Oreo cookie like base. Custard was on the oiler side, ganache was not too sweet. I don't think there were nuts in the Nainaimo bar. More base than custard and ganache. A bit on the sweeter side. Not as good in comparison to others in the area. Cafe has lots of seating inside and on patio where you can people watch. Also had the peach iced tea which tasted like a fuzzy peach candy.

Excellent experience if you have time to sit in. The bagels are fresh and the quality in breakfast sandwiches was top notch, coffee is good too. The atmosphere is worth a detour for sure. Clean and organized the ambient vibe is positive. Hey how’s my picture? It really captured the moment - you’d swear I was advertising for them or something! Super not, just a great coffee house, polite staff
