Shelin Pools Ltd

Advised pool would be ready for Thursday, July 14th but when I arrived, Amy Tompkins didn't know who I was. Apparently she says Kingston store, Maddy, didn't let her know. Picked up the pool Friday after them saying we couldn't have it until Saturday and having to argue that we had installers and water coming Saturday and needed it earlier than they were willing to deliver. When we started to install it, the liner guard wasn't supplied and had to wait for it to be delivered. Then we discovered that the bead receiver track wasn't supplied either. As we then started to put the pool pump together, we found that we had been given parts that were not needed and were missing a piece that was in fact required. Because we were tired of calling, we simply went and purchased the part from another store closer to home. Once the pool was fully installed and the liner secured into the track, we finished getting out all the wrinkles. When it was time for Clark's Water to fill the pool, the wall caved in on one side. We discovered at this time, the liner provided measured from Bead to seam was48 liner and not a 52". Amy insisted that this is the actual measurements for a 52" pool

After struggling with another company for support with our hot tub, the Team at Shelin quickly got our water quality under control and provided tons of useful information that I hadn't got from anywhere else. Haley is great to work with and remembers my name.We were so happy with the service and pricing, that we purchased a new above ground pool from them last year. Anthony was amazing helping us with the purchase and answered every question we could come up with.The installation Team blew us away with how quickly the pool went in and was up and running. After sales service has been top-notch with a small warranty issue and closing the pool for the winter. I'm sure the opening service will be just as great next month. Can't wait!

These folks are fantastic in everything they do. They installed our pool 6-7 years ago and we have been totally satisfied with the servicemen get from them. We have even recommended them to many people and 2 alone on our street ended up getting pools from them... The staff at the store (Kingston) are top notch and know their stuff about pools. Shopping for a replacement hot tub cover. Went to a few different retailers and looked at some online options. Katie, at Shelin Pools, was the difference and the reason we chose to order from them. She took the time to explain exactly how to measure for a proper fit and she also explained the pros and cons of each upgrade and why some may not be worth the cost, instead of just upselling me on everything. That kind of honesty is hard to come by in todays retail environment. Thanks Katie

If i was able to provide a lower then one star review i would. We contacted Shelin pools cause they did our install over 16 years ago and the intall went great back then. This time the install went great and they left. We were preparing to winterize our pool and we noticed they used PCV tubing cement and cement all connectors in place leaving us no way to winterize it , that is without cutting it all apart. Sent 3 emails through their CONTACT US link and after 3 days received no call backs. Contacted the Kingston office and the lady that answered the phone took all my info and said she would call me right back, Next day still no call so i called again, New lady had no idea what i was taking about and there were no notes messages anywhere. Again i passed on my concern wanting to know what the plan was for this type of install. This lady at the kingston store said she would have to contact the Manager at the Napanee Store, so i called and left a message with them to have the manager call. After 2hrs and 30 mins i called back to napanee office again and the lady was not very receptive to me stating that i called and left messages and started telling me that i did not leave a message 2 hours previously.. My phone log says different and apparently she is the only one that answers the phone.. So i would have to agree with some of the other reviews on this page.. once the money was paid the customer service and the ability to get a call back was simply horrible. If i could give a 0 i would. Now we have to cut apart the install they did cause they did not plan or they wanted to make more money by having them come back to winterize our pool.. Very poor customer service.. Simpy horrible.. The most disheartening thing is even when the person amy calls and says she is the owner and i tell her i have already put up my review and we will deal with it ourselves she just chuckels it off and says ok.. We have dealt with Shelin for several years. Their service/install crews are amazing and their workmanship is 2nd to none. All my questions were answered and explained prior to purchase which made our experience stress free. We enjoy shopping here for pool related items as they offer a large variety of plants, candles, pool toys etc in store to compliment our outdoor leisure area.5 Stars Plus!

My wife and I decided that we wanted a pool in our backyard. We had contacted 4 different pool companies and received quotes from all of them. Shelin had the best price, and the most comprehensive quote. They started the pool on May 31st. I was surprised at how professional their staff were. They even went so far as to sweep the dirt off the street in front of our house. The pool was installed completed within 2 weeks. We cannot say enough professional and accommodating everyone at Shelin has been. If you are looking for a pool. We highly recommend Shelin Pools. Our backyard is now our little slice or Paradise.

Paid for them to close the pool. Paid extra for them to clean the salt cell. We assumed they had. Hired them again to open the pool. All they did was remove the tarp. We told them where everything was. They never primed the pump, they didn’t insert the skimmer basket. They did absolutely nothing but remove the tarp. We were home all day, they never came to see us with questions. Next day we went camping. Came home and the pump wasn’t running. Found a note on the floor outside saying they couldn’t start the pump because they couldn’t find the skimmer basket. We had told them where it was. Since the pool wasn’t running for a few days the algae took over the pool. Called several times to speak to the manager before leaving this review and she never returned my calls once. When we finally got the pool running we found out they never cleaned the salt cell which we paid them to do. We trusted them and paid them so much money. We feel totally ripped off and they couldn’t even bother to call us back to apologize.

Shelin installed your pool 11 years ago and did a great job, never had an issue since...Knowledgeable owners and staff always willing to answer your questions. Stopped into the new location during their grand opening and was really surprised how much better is was than their old location. The store is big and bright, well laid out with everything you would need for your pool or spa. Spoke with both Anthony and Amy and they were the same as always, their customer care has remained all these years, regardless if you are a new or returning customer...

If I could give zero stars I would. Pool installed by company 3 years ago and family is now going on their 3rd liner. Liner #1 ripped at install, liner #2 (replaced with cheaper quality because one ordered was no longer available), seam completely ripped (1ft) due to manufacturers defect. Now need this pools third liner. Shelin said they would come 10 days later to inspect to see if it could be repaired. They now claim that they have no record of that appointment and aren't coming. On top of that, they want to charge $300 to come and inspect the defect liner. Absolutely horrific experience. DO NOT BUY FROM SHELIN. There are many other reputable companies in town that will provide their customers with the service they deserve and stand behind their warranty and workmanship.
