Having interacted with John Shaver for over a year now I can categorically say he is the most rude and unprofessional person I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. He has hung up on me TWICE during routine phone calls asking for general information. He sent my mother an EVICTION NOTICE for non-payment, when the payment had been made and the mistake was on HIS end. He sent a curt apology for this.Most recently he changed the locks on the entire condo without sufficent notice and didn't order enough new keys for all the residents, leaving many people locked out. Pretty basic thing to screw up as a property manager. I have personally witnessed him being rude to the building staff also. In short, he is a miserable person to interact with and if you need to hire a property management company, YOU CAN DO BETTER.

Worst management ever they think they have power and control that you do in your condo that you bought with your own money they have no right controlling what you do in your own condo it’s your property don’t let them control you

John Shaver has been the property manager at the Barriefield since before bought here in 2008. I have never dealt with a worse individual in my life. You cannot trust any word coming from his mouth as he makes up his replies on the fly. He once told me that injunctions were an American law concept that did not exist in Canada (which I have on recorder), proving that his knowledge of the law is non existent. He uses the lawyers at the drop of a pin and provided corporate documents (General ledger) to me where he removed full sections. We just learned that his contract will be terminated on February 1, 2018 to my immense relief and pleasure.My best advice is to ALWAYS double check anything he says or writes as a lot of it is complete baloney. Stay away from him and your condo will be better off.
