People here are simply amazing. I have never had any bad experience here, and I have been visiting them since 2014 — bought my first commuter bike in Canada here the day I landed in Vancouver. I feel comfortable bringing my bikes here and asking any questions without worrying about judgments. They provide genuinely good advice for your benefits, even if it means they are going to get paid less.

Used to volunteer with them a few years back, and have recently been to get some parts fixed. Always top notch service. If it´s an easy and kick fix they will do it right away, often without charging any money. If it´s a lengthy one, they´re happy to have you DIY it if there´s space. The mechanics there are super friendly - Pablo was there at the time when I needed to do a freehub swap, and he´s amazingly helpful and patient. Happy to buy parts from them anytime, and keep supporting their project. Too bad is far from most vancouverites but definitely worth the trip!

Been coming here since I was a kid in high school who didn't know anything about bikes in general and when they had their old location before the portable trailer. It's definitely changed over the years but always kept it's grassroots community bike shop appeal. No matter what you ride they always treat you the same and free from judgement. Whether as a beginner rider, daily commuter, or enthusiast that puts just as much mileage on their bike as they do their car; I've evolved through all the stages of ownership over the years and have been treated as a valued patron just the same as I was since day one.

They used to be better and more helpful. Used to lube the bikes and fill up the tire for free, and now you should do it yourself. However, Awesome staff! Everyone super friendly and helpful. You should check there out for sure. it isn't like some bike shops which they only want to add items to your bill. Will go there for any issue with my bike.Thank you Bike Kitchen!

The bike kitchen is my go to bike shop whenever I have any bike issues. Parts are reasonable and labour are much less expensive than other bike shops in the city.In my last visit, my chain was broken so the staff repaired it for $15. A shop downtown quoted me $45. The Bike Kitchen staff also recommended me to replace the cassette, but they don't have the parts. However, they were willing to work on my own sourced parts.Good experience everytime. Before COVID, you could even fix your own bike with their tools for a low hourly price. Hopefully that'll come back one day.

The bike kitchen has helped me out so much. My bike is my main mode of transportation and their DIY nights are wonderful. The staff are very helpful, friendly, and willing to troubleshoot based on your budget. I really appreciate their inventory of used parts as I can't always afford the shiny new things. This place is a fixture of UBC and should be preserved!

Top notch service! Chris just helped me today and assessed all my bikes issues. I am not an expert with bikes but I could understand everything she pointed out as she explained everything to me in a plain, patience and simple way. Very efficient and high quality service! Kudos!

Bought a lemon of a bike on Craigslist and brought it here for an inspection. Alex was kind enough to do a thorough assessment of it and taught me a few things about buying used bikes in the process. Wasn't charged anything, very low pressure and friendly environment. Will be back for sure.

Impressed by service level, quality of work, and cost. They offer to use second hand part for very reasonable cost, when available. Their workshop area and possibility of working on your own bike under supervision is awesome. The best bike shop I have encountered in my half a century of living in four different countries.
