I am thrilled to have had my novel edited by Darling Axe! Working with Heather, over 12 months I have learned so much about plot, characters and what makes a suspenseful narrative for YA. I've used Darling Axe as my go to editing service. Their prices are always fantastic, their editors are top notch, and if I ever have trouble with a draft, I always go to DA for their help! Eric Wong in particular helped me get a contract for a small press, and David Brown is always on the ball when it comes to contracts!

Great service and customer service. The costs of editing are quite accessible to writers who are on a limited budget. Will definitely return for more edits. I’ve worked with Eric Wong and Heather Tekavec. Both are great but in my opinion Heather has better customer service.

I highly recommend the services The Darling Axe provides. I hired them to critique my query letter and synopsis and was blown away upon receiving their feedback. The report was in both cases thorough, full of encouragement and recommendations on what needs fixing and why. I also gained an excess of their Darling Axe Academy, which includes loads of information on the topics of writing query letters, synopsis, contacting agents, and much more. Check it out by yourself and be amazed. :D

I sent my first ten pages for a sample edit and was totally impressed by Heather Tekavec’s editing. She really got what my novel was, and found ways to improve what I was trying to say. Eventually, Heather worked on my entire manuscript: suggesting places where I needed more, cutting any fat, and adding depth and drama in just the right places. I learned so much, gained a better understanding of how a novel works and comes together, and how to create four-dimensional characters. I coudn’t recommend Heather more!
