Amazing stained glass and wood carvings! The organ is really cool too. Met some parishioners. They made this American Episcopalian feel welcome and right at home!

Beautiful and historic church in downtown area. Nice balance between tradition and contemporary issues in the preaching. Open every day from 9-4. Services offered on Wednesday at lunch time and Sunday at 9am and 10:30am.

Best church in the whole wide world. Inside and outside, it has the best gothic architecture rivaling the Notre Dame. And guess what? It has free Wi-Fi. Also, if you're a struggling student, you can have free meals here to save money! I took pictures of the free food schedule. Voila!

It's a good place to relax and have coffee and have some soup for lunch. Every Tuesday. And Thursday. There is a meal. For lunch. It's open from 9AM to 3PM during the week.

I'm visiting from Edmonton, member of Holy Trinity Anglican church in Old Strathcona Edmonton. I had a less than warm reception at Christchurch cathedral for midnight mass tonight: the first in my life that I was refused by the clergy for taking communion near the altar, so I had communion at another station!!! I'm looking at St George's website, hoping to find the scheduled time for a warmer and more meaningful Christmas Day service, but in vain. This website focuses on feeding the poor but isn't helpful to the faithful; Christ once said ...the poor you shall always have..." But what about the faithful??"

Surrounded and dwarfed by ever taller office buildings, St George’s Anglican Church is a reminder of how this downtown neighborhood used to look like before office skyscrapers claimed it.

I attended a performance by Adlesia (the choir) in this church. It's a beautiful church and the performance was lovely.

Beautiful smaller Church that looks very inconspicuously from the outside but from the inside all the more beautiful is. Many ornaments and very beautiful wood. A recommendation for anyone who likes churches with wood and ornaments.

Tempus fugit, eh? Between 1952-56, I was a wee cub-scout and we met in the basement of that church. Fun fact: Another cub-scout and I were stopped by police going home March 20, 1955. Montreal was under curfew after the Richard riot, March 17. Shrewd police saw us as no threat to Dorchester street and sent us off home.
