Close friends, who are more like family, had devastating news. The wife and mother had brain surgery, worrying everyone. Happily, the surgery was successful but it was uncertain when she would be discharged from the Hospital. That is when I spoke with Marina who understood our predicament and committed to have flowers delivered in a timely manner for our friend's arrival home. Marina took care of everything: recommended the floral arrangement, set up the card, coordinated with Brittania Wine Market and arranged for the delivery earlier than previously planned. While the floral arrangement was superb, it was Marina's empathy and compassion that made me feel valued as a client and ultimately helped me deliver an incredibly important gesture to our special friend. We engaged Karla at Black Earth Floral for our wedding in Calgary on October 9, 2022. Firstly, our florals were the actual most beautiful florals I have ever seen. They were perfect, they were exactly in the style and colour palette that we had discussed months earlier, and we were blown away. Secondly, from the start, Karla was so easy to work with. Super friendly and collaborative, and she didn’t try to upsell us when we were pretty sure we were looking for a more limited scope, including small bud-vase installations for our tables instead of large centrepieces. She helped us explore and get at the aesthetic we were looking for, and it turned out perfectly. In the lead-up to our wedding, she was patient when we sent her follow-up info about our colour palette having shifted, and all the info we sent clearly made its way into our file, because the final product responded to the update! And she was super communicative in advance when it turned out one of the flowers we had requested would not be available in time for our wedding. We have recommended and would recommend Karla and the BEF team to anyone getting married. We absolutely loved her!

Where do I even begin! Karla created the MOST beautiful arrangement of flowers I could have ever asked for at our wedding! I knew we were off to a good start when our initial consult took place over coffee and laughter. Karla was so easy to talk to and share my vision with - I had some idea of what I wanted our florals to look like but Karla went above and beyond and made all of my wildest dreams come true! Karla was so easygoing and made every effort to achieve my vision with me and make it even better than I had imagined. She was able to incorporate subtle details that were so meaningful into my bouquet. It honestly brought me to tears when I saw how carefully and thoughtfully Karla had pinned my grandfather's firefighter pin into my bouquet to hold as I walked down the aisle. Our arbor was EXACTLY what I wanted, as were the centerpieces and floral arrangement on the welcome sign. All of our guests could not stop talking about our flowers and how amazing they were!! One of my most treasured gifts from our wedding is a framed picture of my husband and I, framed by my unforgettable pressed bouquet. If you are in between florists for your wedding, go with Karla!! You will NOT be disappointed!

I ordered my wedding flowers from Black Earth Floral. Even though my order was small (a bouquet and a small table decoration), Karla was excited about me being her client, and gave me her full attention. She helped me negotiate the best use of my small budget, and even suggested budget-friendly aisle decor. The flowers on the day of the wedding were fresh & beautifully arranged, and they lasted for 1-2 weeks after the wedding (depending on the flower). I'm very happy with my experience, and would definitely order from her again.

We cannot say enough good things about Black Earth Floral!!! They absolutely blew us out of the water with the attention to detail and ability Karla had to take what we described over the phone and turn it into exactly what we wanted and more. Our flowers were absolutely stunning and personalized to us! I was blown away by my bouquet and my husband’s boutonniere, which were both stunning. Even when my husband first saw my bouquet he was surprised at how Karla had managed to nail it on the head and deliver a bouquet that was exactly what we wanted. The prices were incredibly reasonable as well, for the quality of product delivered I truly think she could charge a lot more, but we also appreciated how affordable our flowers were. Karla was very easy to deal with both over the phone and we communicated often via text which made things so much easier for us. Karla’s attention to detail is evident and it shows. She provided us with a bouquet, boutonniere, reception table runner, eucalyptus cuts for our place settings, and decorative flowers for the ceremony arch. The arch was a show stopper and was absolutely stunning. My bouquet was unique, stunning colours and beautifully arranged. Karla set up the ceremony arch flowers and table runners. The table runner was amazing, simple, and elegant. Every piece that Karla and Black Earth floral made for us was elegant, stunning, thoughtfully arranged, aligned with our vision, and exceptionally beautiful. We even still have the succulents from my husband’s boutonniere and my bouquet which we have kept and grown in pots in our home.We cannot recommend Black Earth Floral enough. You will not regret choosing them for any component of your wedding or special occasion. We cannot wait to have them provide flowers for other events and celebrations for us in the future, we will definitely work with them again!!!
