Wooww... what a peaceful stay we had for 6 nights. Room was super cozy, spacious and owner of house were very kind. Ms. Jennifer, always helped me whenever I needed it. Always smiling and very kind lady. God bless the family. Laundry room is also available. Location is also prime and nearby all major shops and resturants. We are fully satisfied and surely recommend to book their rooms for their stay vancouver area.

Great price for a location that is not far from a main street.

Horrible interactions with hosts/service who is also dishonest! Great location and Price! BEWARE!!This has been the worst service of my life – enough to move me to write this review. Stayed there for 3 nights. We had booked all the 4 rooms that the guesthouse rents out because we were a large extended family who decided to visit BC together. Our stay in Vancouver was one part of our trip. Our group was made of 2 seniors, 7 adults and 2 toddlers (3 years and 1 year). We are generally considered well- behaved group and have always received excellent reviews from the hosts that we stay with. Our host was the owners' son. This person is rude, misbehaved and dishonest.Pros: The location is awesome. The rooms were relatively clean (dusty but overall clean). Bathrooms were clean. WIFI is available. A couple of rooms had hair dryer. 2 towels were provided for three nights in each room (which was sufficient for us). TV is provided but no cable. Streaming services could be used with your own log in and passwords. Electric kettle is provided in each room.Cons:We were ‘asked’ by the host to pay by cash on arrival (which we did). We were also asked to cancel the booking through the website we had booked for a $50 discount (we declined). We were also informed on arrival that the prices had been increased (we ignored this comment since we were booked through a proper website). After our visit, the 'host' tried to claim to the website that we had never shown up to the property. Of course we have proof otherwise (pictures) and the communication prior to arriving there was through text messages - so proof of him asking for cash. In fact we suspected some sort of dishonesty due to his suspicious behaviour so we took pictures and video of how we left everything.Very limited use of kitchen (even though we had confirmed that kitchen is available for light cooking). There is only one mini fridge that is supposed to be used by all the guests (since it was only our family that were there as guests this was not a problem). There is a common area (eating/dining area) for the guests to use. We were informed that all guests could not be in this area at the same time (thus we were not allowed to eat together in this common room).Originally, we were told that common area could be used until 11 pm. We would normally leave the house by 10/11 am and come back after having dinner (around 8/9 pm). If anyone went to the common area in the evening (before the 11 pm curfew time) we would be rudely told to ‘go back to the room (we are mostly 30+).If we would be having breakfast or tea/coffee in the common area the ‘host’ would keep walking around every 5 minutes for no genuine reason. My sister in law was ‘ordered’ to put all the shoes on the rack outside (we had lined them up neatly outside). Nothing regarding this was said to any male in the family or when some of us were together. On the last night we were ‘ordered’ to vacate the property prior to 10 am while home rules stated the check out time was noon, while the checkout time stated on the website was 11 pm. We were also informed that light cooking was not allowed on the last day. We were also confronted for not cleaning the dishes (basically the hosts dirty dishes – which of course we had not cleaned. We had only used a frying pan and spatula which we had washed and put back in its correct place)The host overall was an extremely rude and misbehaved individual, who did not even spare the toddler from his rudeness. Because of his unwelcoming attitude and overall rudeness, our stay was actually very stressful and we were relieved when we left the house. No iron is any rooms. No air conditioner. One room had a small personal fan. The biggest room with two beds is quite hot.NOT recommended for families (even the location and price does not make up for the horrible host). If you are only going to stay outside the house or in the room only it might be worth it - for an adult couple on their own it would be worth it - just make sure you have proof and evidence for everything.
