Skilled Trades College of Canada - Mississauga Campus

STC was one of the best decisions of my life. I learned so much about construction that I didn’t know from the get go and the best part was that it’s all hands on. Also, major shoutout to the Home Renovations Instructor “Jeff ”. Stand up guy, really knows his stuff and honestly I’ve never had a better teacher in my life. And, if you’re there for the right reasons, you’ll learn so much that eventually gets you ready to be on a job site after you graduate.

At my time attending Skilled trades college of Canada I believe I have learned enough to go into the field and pursue my ambitions of becoming a journeyman. Classes do not feel overwhelming and the array of knowledge I have obtained from the course was taught and explained well. I am thankful 3-ways and 4-ways were taught to us and I can understand wiring diagrams. Overall a great course.

Anybody looking to get into the trades, needs experience before employers will hire you. I’m currently enrolled in Electrical, I find it’s a great balance between schoolwork and hands-on, and learning more than I ever could from community college. My instructor, Chris is a great instructor and a great guy.

Skilled trades college is a great start for anyone looking to get an apprenticeship. I believe it has given me the electrical knowledge to start working in the trade, as well as the confidence to use all types of tools that the trade requires. The teachers are very helpful and give real world advice about the trade. I would recommend this course for anyone looking for a quick way to start their electrical career.

I am a 45 year old female currently enrolled in the electrical pre apprenticeship program and excited to start my new career! The amount of information we have been able to learn is such a short amount of time will be a huge help I’m pursuing this new career path and getting into any work environment. We are covering both residential and industrial and the amount of hands on training has exceeded expectation!I also have a son who fresh out of high school is now an electrical apprentice and my knowledge far exceeds him despite him being 6+ months ahead of me in his apprenticeship.I feel confident going onto any job site and installing any basic electrical with ease and certainty!Thank you so much Dan, Alfie and the whole team for making this journey a positive change in my life!As a side note, being an older female has not “hindered” me at all, everyone has been so accepting and welcoming, there are people here from all walks of life and we are all working toward a common goal. :)

I can only praise my time within STC. From an individual with literally 0 experience in any trade practically, 8 weeks into the program I can comfortably picture and rough in a plumbing project be it in a commercial, residential, or high rise setting. Instructor Frank Pera has both instilled confidence and knowledge concretely within myself and my classmates, something that seems to be lacking in todays educators. Looking forward to the remaining weeks in the plumbing program!

I feel that STC is one of the best places to enter your pre-apprenticeship training in trade skills. there is a lot of knowledge and skills, and I am sure you will be happy and appreciate it.#Jeff H. As of writing this review I'm currently in the electrical pre apprenticeship program. So far I can strongly recommend this program. Within the first few days we were already doing hands on work. You can expect to spend half your day doing theory and the other half in the workshop.Its clear that the instructors you get at the course are professionals who have done their time in the field. My instructor Chris has been nothing but exceptional so far. When it comes down to how much you learn from this course I will simply say you get what you put into it.

Great decision. As someone who decided to go back to school at 30, this has been an amazing experience. Great hands on labs to familiarize yourself with all the hardware and tools. Well planned lessons ensuring all students fully understand theory and how to navigate the Code book. Highly recommended route to take if you don't like sitting in a classroom for a long time.

Had the pleasure of attending Skilled Trades College of Canada - Mississauga Campus for a home Reno program as Jeff as Instructor. I have little to no experience in construction or in trades and Jeff was great at building an understanding on what to expect in a career in construction and the skills needed to keep a job as well as very practical and hands on class labs working with many various tools and materials.Anybody looking to getting into a trades school - Skilled trades college of Canada is a great opportunity to learn valuable life-long skills whether for a career in trades or personal reasons. Jeff was very engaging, approachable, personable, and knowledgable. Class modules were packed with rich useful information for someone looking to get into the business (don't be afraid to ask questions!) and class labs are always fun and engaging.Thank you Skills Trade College of Canada and Jeff for being an awesome teacher!Highly recommended.
