A great place 60kilometres of London, Ontario. The place is so quiet and beautiful. We went to plant a lot of trees to improve the aspiring Carolinian Forest, in the future, for our children and grandchildren and future generation to enjoy. Come volunteer and enjoy!

This place is amazing . So much biodiversity and breath taking little views. Don't miss this secret gem that is Ontario Nature's newest nature reserve.Trails are not constructed or posted but this and the near by Carolinean Canada signature site access point are one of the top places natural places to visit in southern Ontario.

I accessed it at the end of Buttonwood. My understanding is that when you reach the end of Buttonwood, the part of the forest that's to your right (NW) is private property while the part that's to your left (SE) is the nature reserve. From this access point, there is no trail. Nonetheless, you can make your way through there if you're willing to trudge through the bush. When I was there in early October, I saw an abundance of deer and wood ducks. The Sydenham River is quite scenic, and there are a few very impressive sycamore and cottonwood trees. There's an abandoned driveway that begins near the bridge at Pratt Siding road that provides easier access, although it is partially overgrown and obstructed by fallen trees. That old driveway reaches about halfway through the nature reserve.

A hidden treasure along the southern bank of the Sydenham. Entrance at the Southeastern corner of the Pratt Siding Bridge and the end of the Buttonwood, but that remains unmarked and somewhat rough. The best way to experience this reserve, IMO is by canoe or small kayak. The upstream edge of the reserve, towards Alvinston is marked by a green and white diamond sign along the south bank and just further downstream a huge Sycamore (Buttonwood). The Eastern tract was purchased by the Sydenham Field Naturalists as a natural reserve.
