BUYER BEWARE: POOR COMMUNICATION AND SEVERE LACK OF PERFESSIONALISMI’ve never published a bad google review, but I felt strongly that I had to share my unfortunate experience with Vancouver Canine. Initially it started off well. My pups trial walk went without a hitch. However, on the day of my pups first official walk, the pick up time was not communicated and all went down hill. I had explained to the owner, Jayme, on our first phone call, that the place that I work at opens at 11am and numerous times after that. I remember looking at their app which said that his walk was between 12-4pm. (walks are 1.5 hrs so I thought that the pick up time would be after 12pm). On the day mentioned, I was running late due to a traffic jam and was texted at 10:50am by one of her employees that they would be at my work at 11am to pick up my pup for his walk. I arrived at 11:10am and was then told that coming later could be an issue. When Jayme subsequently emailed me, she said that she wouldn’t be able to guarantee a pick up time and therefore cancelled her services. I was shocked. There was never a discussion or confirmation about pick up times. She obviously knew that she couldn’t guarantee a pick up time (and that my work opened at 11am) then why consider taking my pup in the first place? There was no openness on her part to work something out - extremely unreasonable and unprofessional. And not only this, but she agreed to take videos of my pup on his walks, which didn’t happen; and the actual first walk was cancelled to due to her vehicle being repaired (which she didn’t communicate to me either by phone or email. I only saw the cancellation on their app and had to email them why). This is a poorly run business that over promises and under delivers. I really hope that they take this opportunity to reflect on their severe lack of business practice, communication and professionalism.

Incredibly reliable and amazing dog service. I’ve trusted this service with my fur babies for over a year, 5 days a week. I couldn’t be happier. My boys are living their best lives with their pals while I work from my office. It’s such a relief to know they are in the best hands.

I would (and have!) highly recommend Vancouver Canine to any dog owners in the area. We took the leap in March 2021 to sign up our highly-attached, timid 3-year-old Ridgeback for two 90 min hikes per week. With his separation anxiety, we struggled to leave him in anyone's care, but Jaime and Tatum bonded with him right away. It's been the highlight of our year to watch Reggie's world grow! He literally watches from the window for the van on hike days and always returns happy & tired. Best decision we've made!

MERELY AN OBSERVER - As someone who sat watching as the Vancouver Canine van pulled up to the curb opposite my house, and as a heat-sensitive and overly-cautious dog mom, who has witnessed heat-stroke in dogs first hand, I thought it wise to inform users of this service that there were some risky protocols at play when observing a dog being dropped back off after its walk.As the temperatures climb as we move into summer, many dogs struggle in the heat even if they have access to water. Heat-storke is real for many dog breeds and only takes a matter of minutes for dogs to start to struggle, and eventually die. Leaving other dogs unrestrained/uncontained in a vehicle without supervision, even if to do a 'quick' drop off (which lasted about 10 minutes) would not be ok by me and when the temperature rises to above 22 degrees, this is also an entirely different level of concern and worry. Also, no observance of any windows open - I realise there could be air conditioning but the vehicle was closed up.As the walker took the one dog out of the vehicle, two other dogs were observed in the passenger and driver's seats, being given free roam of the vehicle. One dog in particular, took to barking/jumping on the passenger window as a dog on lead passing by with its owner. There are so many things that could go wrong with dogs being given free roam of an unattended vehicle - let alone the temperature issue - even if for a few minutes. It's like leaving small children alone in a car unrestrained...never do it!Some dog owners may not be too concerned by this behaviour but I would be asking questions about my dogs comfort and control when being transported by someone (not the owner) of another vehicle and how the animal is being looked after (or not) in urban dwellings like central Vancouver, with vehicles of all sizes and shapes, humans and other dogs all around.Again, I am writing this as an observer but also as someone who has genuine concern for our canine friends in all situations, and 'what I'd want to know about what really goes on...'

Vancouver Canine is such an amazing dog walking service in Vancouver. From the very beginning, the owner Jayme was so kind and accommodating to me and my pup, Billie. Billie absolutely fell in love with her dog walker, Gemma, who was absolutely amazing with her. She always arrived with a smile, rain or shine and was great at communicating/keeping me updated. I can say without a doubt that Billie eagerly awaited her adventure hike every day she was booked in and passed out as soon as she arrived back.We will miss you Jayme and Gemma — thank you for all you have done. If we weren’t moving to a new city, Billie would definitely still be part of her hiking dog pack.

I was introduced to Vancouver Canine by my daughter, whose Rhodesian Ridgeback had great success as the walkers worked through his separation anxiety. My dog was just 6 months when we met Jayme. She visited us at home and took Rupert for an “introduction “ walk. At 8 months, my energetic Aussiedoodle was ready for the forest hikes . He has attended Vancouver Canine 5 days a week ever since. Each day he sits in front of the window, waiting for the vechile to arrive . He loves all the walkers and they love him.On a personal level. I can never repay Jayme and Kaila for their support and kindness beyond the call of duty during a very difficult year. They’re the BEST!!!!

Vancouver Canine is the best thing that has happened to me as a single dog parent. I was so nervous introducing Kooper to a person that he would have to spend so much time with given I work so much. Jayme has given him the world and I cannot be more pleased with Vancouver Canine ‘s service with him. Jayme has gone above and beyond to ensure Kooper is happy and well taken care of. They send me videos of him living his best life and I couldn’t be more appreciative. Vancouver Canine dog walking has changed my trust in people watching over my angel and provides him the best atmosphere to thrive. I’ve told multiple people about Vancouver Canine ‘s incredible dog walking service and I can’t thank her enough. When they come for pick up, Kooper is so excited it’s hard to get him in his harness so he can spend the time of his life with them. 10s across the board. Tell your friends, Vancouver Canine is the one. What an amazing investment to my angel’s day to day happiness.

I had my puppy Romeo using Vancouver Canine 3 times/week. I started off with just once a week, before long I had him on 3 times a week and absolutely worth every penny. Romeo loved his hikes and was always so excited. Both Jayme and Tatum were so great with him and he absolutely loved her. Going to this regular not only helped Romeo become a more obedient dog and also his social skills became 100% better. I highly recommend Vancouver Canine to everyone. The benefits your puppy will get out of it is immense.

We love Vancouver Canine! Jayme was super accomodating at the start getting us scheduled, introduced, and placing our puppy in the right group. Louie comes home socialized, happy and tired! We feel totally at ease knowing he is in good hands and having fun. Thank you Gemma and Jayme!

Jayme is amazing! She takes my dachshund Benji for walks 2x a week and he loves it. At the beginning couple of times he was timid but Jayme took such a great care of him and made him comfortable. She is trustworthy, every dog loves her therefore I would highly recommend her!
