Norfolk Guest House Bed & Breakfast Accommodations | Guelph, Ontario

We discovered Norfolk Bed and Breakfast last year and have visited twice in the last 5 months. It’s a quick and easy drive from Toronto and Janet offers not just excellent customer service but also the most delicious made to order breakfast. We always stay at the Penthouse suite, which is beautiful. It’s huge with a fireplace, a designated dinning area, an in suite hot tub, a large bathroom and a spacious balcony with a view. It’s also pet friendly but you would never know without asking! It’s clean, well decorated and cozy. The room is well equipped with everything you need and you also have access to the kitchen downstairs for tea or coffee. A perfect home away from home to rest and recharge. Delicious restaurants nearby offer dinner and lunch options and there are hiking trails as well as the arboretum for daytime adventuring. This place is truly a hidden gem and we highly recommend it!

Checked in with my wife after a long day of travel. Room and bathroom were far from what we had anticipated. Look forward to a soak in the tub as reviews spoke highly of. Our room was musty and had a poor odour. The tub may have been nice in the 80”s but a shower would not be had. There was a hole in the wall with exposed plumbing and wiring. We lasted 5 minutes and left for a different Hotel. Owner was gracious enough to let us know she will still charge us full price and said we should have booked a different room. A boutique hotel this is not.

A wonderful heritage home in a historic neighborhood in Guelph makes this a great place to stay. Janet is a lovely host, and you will be well cared for! We highly recommend this guest house!

My husband and I stayed here last week and loved it. Our room was gorgeous, the breakfast delicious and our bathroom (private to us and across the hall) was massive. We could walk to downtown's shops and restaurants and not worry about parking. Highly recommended!

I have a new standard for hotels and B&Bs after staying at the Norfolk Guest House. The building is beautiful inside and out, including gorgeous and clean rooms and the best mattress I have ever slept on during my travels. Our host was lovely to chat with each morning during breakfast (which was always delicious), and she even alerted us when we forgot something in our room post-checkout. I cannot recommend this b&b enough to anyone visiting Guelph.

After being given the daunting task of trying to find comfortable accommodations for our somewhat fussy group of 5 couples and 1 single at the beginning of August of this year I was profoundly lucky to stumble upon the website for the Norfolk Guest House and our host Janet. From our first phone conversation Janet put my mind at ease as I rattled off detail after detail that would need accommodating and she immediately went over and above to make sure everything would go as planned. From the minute we pulled up to the Guest house we felt at home. It was truly a joy stepping into this gorgeous stately manor to find our rooms as clean and comfortable as we expected each with its own cozy bed, huge bathroom and lots of clean fresh towels. Our biggest priority was spending time together as a group and with Janet’s help we were able to use the downstairs dining room and beautiful garden as our central meeting spots where we were able to share lots of laughs, great stories and the amazing coffee and breakfast that Janet made for us each day. It was just a perfect mix of privacy and togetherness that we wouldn’t find in a cold commercial hotel.Thanks to Janet our weekend away was better than we could have even imagined. Nothing but shining reviews from this group for sure!! We would be more than happy to recommend The Norfolk Guest house to anyone travelling to the area.Thank you again Janet for everything. My husband and I stayed here for our 10 year anniversary and it exceeded our expectations! We stayed in the Grandview Suite and it was so spacious, tastefully decorated and comfortable. And the bedsheets!!! They were the softest sheets I have ever slept on. It is conveniently located within walking distance of downtown. Wonderful stay and highly recommend it!

A wonderful old place with a lovely respect for its own history. Janet, the owner was super friendly and welcomed us with respect and affection. We felt like we were entering our own house since there is no checking in process like in a hotel. The bedroom, the Pandora suite, was comfortable and spacious. The Breakfast included in our fare was served at 8 with coffee, orange juice and fruits that gave us an extra push to enjoy our visit. The owner also provides excellent guidelines and tips to improve your time in Guelph.

Only had a one-night stay at the Norfolk but was highly impressed by both the house itself and the innkeepers. A beautiful historical building situated within walking distance to downtown, Janet was both professional and affable and made staying here a pleasure to do so, and I would happily make a reservation here again.
