I am thrilled to recommend Healthy Houndz! As a first-time puppy parent, I was completely in the dark. Karen from Healthy Houndz met me over Zoom before I even brought home my pup. She told me which things I needed, which ones I didn't, how to set up my house (crate, gates, food) and how to feel confident bringing my puppy home.I had 6 training sessions where Karen taught me all of the basic commands, and answered all of my questions and concerns. Karen really adapts the sessions to her client's needs and gives lots of positive reinforcement to both the owner and puppy. Karen was an absolute pleasure to work with and was always available to answer questions. If you have a new puppy or want to modify your dog's habits, I strongly recommend Healthy Houndz!

Karen is very professional. After 6 sessions with her, Cubby who never listened and did only whatever he likes became totally different dog. Now he is listening to me all the time which makes me a way easier to train and live with him. Karen trains my dog by positive reinforcement which I love that Cubby never get stress and fear while training. I can tell Cubby loves to work with Karen since he gets so excited when we see Karen coming to us. Highly recommend with 5 stars!

Karen is an excellent trainer with a systematic and effective approach! Abbey started with us as adorable 9 week old Havanese who wouldn't leave my shoelaces alone, jumped on all visitors and didn't know any commands. After just 6 weeks with Karen's help, we have a lovely puppy who follows many basic commands, doesn't chew my shoelaces!!, can go up and down stairs and has learned to go on walks with significantly more control. Most importantly, Karen showed us HOW to train our dog so we can continue to teach her new things. Karen's calm and supportive approach have made us feel we can handle anything and our puppy is more and more of a joy for us every day. Thank you Karen!

She creates an instant connection with your dog and walks you through very practical exercises to help you and your family members build trust, gain confidence and manage your dog relationship using an effective, positive methods. If you are looking for a highly knowledgeable trainer who is supportive, practical and easy to work with - Karen is the person for you. Karen has worked with us and our new puppy for over 3 months. She quickly alleviated some initial fears we had about separation anxiety and has helped us build our positive reinforcement toolbox so we can raise a well adjusted and happy dog. Karen has a great sense of humour and has taken the time to get to know us and our pup. She adjusts our training sessions based on what our greatest need is each week. Although we've had dogs before this is the most confident we've felt with training a dog because of our time with Karen. Our pup Maxx can hardly contain himself when she arrives at our front door - that is the truest testament!

Karen is incredible. I can't recommend her highly enough. She has an amazing consent-focused philosophy and approach to animals and the world. From the moment she stepped into our home she began helping our dog build trust with her and in turn, with us. She has a special way of coaching and balancing feedback with positive reinforcement and kindness. I feel just as newly trained as our pup, and feel empowered to continue the work we started together. We have such a well rounded set of tools and the value of the sessions was tenfold.
