First General Services North Bay

Where do I even begin.These guys have been working on my apartment for the past month. At the start, they gave us roughly 15 hours notice to pack up and vacate the apartment as they were more than happy to come in and demo the entire sub floor. After 3 days of demo, they told us they would be back in 3 months to repair. We had to threaten to find a different company for them to actually come do repairs.In the first few days of repairs, they broke our coffee table and unplugged our fridge, resulting in about $1000 in damages that they reluctantly replaced; albeit late. We had to go 2 weeks with no food and very little money before they finally reimbursed me for all the food they wasted.Over the course of the following 3 weeks, they repeatedly would arrive at 1pm rather than the 8-10am they promised, often times they would show up for 2 or 3 hours and complete literally nothing. I could check in the apartment two days in a row and see zero difference despite them being on site for a few hours.They’re hard to get a hold of, texting/calling the supervisor would result in either an immediate reply, or no reply for days.It’s at the point now that they’re “finishing up”, though every time we’re told “just one more day of work”, the guys come in the next day and tell us it’ll be a few more days. They moved all of the belongings from the apartment back into the place days before the toilet was installed, forcing us to sleep on a floor at a relatives house until we had a damned toilet.One team of guys will mess up (baseboards cut too short or too long, for example), so they’ll send in another team to fix that. Then the new team will mess up, and they’ll send yet another team.We’re at the point that every time they come in to work, we return to the apartment and start looking for damages; whether it’s a broken table, lost food, switched breakers, ripped pictures from the walls, drywall damage, etc… not to mention the cleanup they did was sub par, and they had the audacity to use our personal vacuum cleaner to vacuum up sawdust.This company is absolutely unbelievable. The only reason I give 2 stars and not 1 is because they’re replacing everything they damage. Using this company has been headache after headache, the amount of wasted time and money is absolutely astonishing. They couldn’t pay me to use their services again.

Shea and his team were absolutely fantastic. Extremely professional and fast with the water damage clean up and sanitization. The crew was very polite and took care of our home in a very professional manner. Shea was very knowledgeable and informative and let us know what is happening every step of the way. We can absolutely recommend this company to anyone and wouldn’t hesitate to use this team again.A+ Service!

Terrific service. I had some drywall cracking due to snow load and so they removed all of the ceiling and insulation upstairs (insurance covered it). They were responsive and professional. Great to deal with. They accidentally broke a small part of the vacuum and were quick to apologize and replaced it. I would DEFINITELY use them again.

This company has been nothing but an absolute nightmare to deal with. It's now been 2 years since our renovations, and were still dealing with their mistakes.Since first general has worked on our house we have had multiple plumbing issues/floods. Our basement is now full of black mould. We had asked them to come and fix it, but instead they worsened the damage.I really dont recomend this business to anybody! Save yourself the headache!!
