Not as friendly, not as helpful, better organized now but it has lost its cachet. Just another used bookstore. Browsing once took hours and now not nearly so much

I had a great time when I visited City Lights this weekend . The dude behind the counter was very polite and accomodating. Tons of very interesting books and vintage ones. I'll be back. The store is also very clean!

It's a wonderful bookshop filled to the brim with older books. You'll find some brilliant, and maybe even some rare finds.For example I saw a sign saying that they had a volume of Shakespeare from 1757.This is the kind of place that your favourite fictional character that has a penitence for a good book would make a point of stopping by.

Great book shop. Really great stuff at very good prices and very helpful staff. If you know what you want just ask them, but I suggest at least an hour or two to wonder around the place on both floors. Oh, they also have movies (DVDs) and music (CDs and LPs). Lot’s of stuff so don’t be in a hurry.

I visited for the first time just yesterday while on other business down the street. My visit was cut short way before I had a chance to really check it out but the sections I did check blew me away. I was able to grab several back issues of Heavy Metal magazine that look like they just rolled off the press. If you appreciate old books, mags, records etc then schedule a visit.
