Beautiful mountain lake with a nice day-use area. It's roughly 8 km down a dirt road to get to the lake, but it was totally worth it. We took our young children here for a picnic, and they had a blast. There is a grassy area, a beach, and picnic tables. There were only vault toilets, but that's expected because this place is kind of in the middle of nowhere.I wouldn't recommend the campground here. The sites were way too small and close together for my liking - - and way too close to the road. We'd come back here for another day trip though - - it's really picturesque.

Campsite is very clean and very quiet with loads of space per site. Nice place to spend a relaxing day at the lake. Service road up there is very manageable also.

It's out of the way but it's worth the trip to get here. Lots of bear activity in the area.

A gorgeous lake! I highly recommend renting a canoe, and rowing out to the middle. Go and explore! Go and find the small freezing cold glacial melt waterfalls that feed this gorgeous and clear water.

Lovely lake! Bit of unsealed road to get out there, but the place is awesome for hikes, watch out for black and grizzly bears and cougars tho. Good place for a bbq

This place is amazingly beautiful. It's great for camping, kayaking, swimming, fishing and relaxing. Very peaceful place. Sand beach is good for kids. Good camping spots.

Date April.23,2022 the Birkenhead park still close due to snow and some broken tree, but you can drive up to the gate then walk for another 1.9km which is like 40min-1hour walk.You can drive using 4x4 or regular car but be prepare driving there as there is some loose gravel and not fully renovated drive road.The park it self still amazing specially the lake and snowy mountain.It was flat trail around the campground and there is washroom available when we go up there also we see some people did camping near blackwater lake.It was a family friendly trail.You must visit here.
