St. Oswald's Anglican Church

This church is a remarkable place. The congregation is small and they are kind and wonderful people. At Sunday Service there is an average of 35 people and this leads to a genuine feeling of friendship and togetherness that I have rarely found. After church a lunch is always shared in the Parish Hall. All are welcome.Though small the church provides a lot of outreach to the industrial community it is the centre of. Food bank drives at Christmas, craft fairs, quilts in the graveyard, art shows and a charity conceived and run by the Parish children to provide bags of groceries to poor people in Mexico.The building itself was constructed in 1911. It has a short tower and a simple stained glass window behind the alter. There is a small graveyard surrounding it and many towering heritage trees, Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar and English Oak.This is a little church with a huge heart.
