Nice, friendly environment and prices are GREAT. I was talking to a friend who moved to Nanaimo a year or so ago about hairdressers etc and she had gone to 3-4 different salons until she found someone she liked. She told me that the prices for cut and colour were basically the same at all the salons (higher than she had been paying in Alberta) and figured that that was the going rate here so she decided to stop looking. I told her how much it cost me and she was shocked! I paid $50-70 less for the same thing. I've been getting my hair done (cut, colour) by Chelsea for several years now and I would recommend her all day long. She's amazing!

I saw three different people at this salon, Sarah, Nicole and the nail tech. Sara was amazing, it is hard trying to find a half decent salon on this island. Thanks Sara! If you want some great eye brows see Nicole. I cannot remember the nail techs name, she was new; did a great job with the gel polished manicure, though it was advertised at 50% off. I did not receive this discount.

I am a regular !! I am always so happy with my hair cut! My curls have never looked better. I have been going there for years and again they have won the best in the city for a few years in a row!!

I had the best experience ever. I was very nervous new salon new stylist but had the best cut in 10 years with Mel. They are just so down to earth, friend. So high end with customer service and quality .Listened to exactly what I wanted and got what I asked for. Have had so many compliments on cut daily Will so be a regular customerSusan P

Been going here for years and always have a great experience getting my haircut! Chelsea, the owner, is always so accommodating to my spontaneous appointment scheduling. The staff are super helpful and always on the ball. Keep it up and see you soon.

I just paid 600$ for me and my daughter to have our hair done. I got a root touch up and a trim and my daughter got ombre and she was there for 7 hours. They left dye all over my forehead and neck. There is a few spots that my daughter's hair is not right. 400$ for ombre is outrageous and not to mention she was in tears the next day when the curls were gone. It was definitely a lesson learned and I will not be back. My daughter and me should have looked like a million dollars leaving there for 600$ I was in tears and felt sick to my stomach about it.

Took a chance on this place and booked a haircut and brow wax with Chelsey. I'm always apprehensive about trying new stylists and salons because of a bad experience in the past, but this was wonderful. Chelsey listened to me throughout the whole process and was even able to fix my bangs that I tried to trim myself, making them even better and exceeding my expectations. The price was extremely reasonable for what I had done as well, considering it was a lot of hair that I had chopped off. Highly recommend this place, and it's in a good location just off of Bowen Road!

I went to this salon 2 weeks ago. I left with ORANGE/ YELLOW HAIR! I called to make an appointment to get it fixed the way I wanted my hair to look. I called and was told no problem we can do that. I had to miss the appointment due to a medical emergency. Considering this was a medical issue that was an emergency I didn't call right at that moment. I went in and spoke the the Owner of the salon.There were a couple of customers in the salon and I was told that it was absolutely no problem and it would be covered. I just would like to add in that I had an all over color, nothing to have a major fix just to get toned to the proper color I wanted it to be. So I went in yesterday, November 10th. I sat down on the chair and she undid my pony tail and started to look at my hair. I asked a question about what product they used to tone so the hairdresser went to look.The owner then said to me that because it had been 2 weeks that I had to pay half. I was obviously upset and said well I can't afford that and why should I have to pay when my Hair was absolutely horrible! I had chose a very nice toned look and my hair was Yellow. For one, I could have just bleached my hair and had it yellow.The hairstylist have me a small bottle of very purple shampoo. I went home and I showed my son and his girlfriend ( her mother happens to own an amazing hair salon. I wanted to get it done sooner) they were trying to make me feel better as I was in tears. Two days later I used that purple shampoo she gave me and left it on for a little while. Nothing changed. So, when I left the salon I was not happy. I called a friend and was told I should get a refund so I went in and was Yelled at and told she doesn't give refunds! I then said that I was going to write a bad review and she screamed at me to not threaten her and to get out! I was appalled! I was just blown away that an Owner of an establishment would do that to a paying customer that was not satisfied with her hair?? I couldn't believe it. I was walking out upset and she locked the door! I was sooooo sad and in disbelief. I just left an abusive relationship 2 months prior and this was a treat to make myself feel better, boost my self esteem. Now I am out money and stuck with horrible hair. I sat in front of the salon and cried. This was my experience. It was the absolute worst hair salon yet literally any customer service establishment that I have Ever been treated so badly.The owner Treated me like dirt.

Chelsey again has done an awesome job on my hair! I highly recommend her or any of the girls that work here! All of them greet you with warm cheerful positive vibes! Comfortable atmosphere and great experience. Services are well priced considering the amazing service received! If your looking for comfortable relaxing atmosphere Hairtech is place to go!

Excellent salon and service from Rayna! The salon is clean and the staff are friendly with a professional yet casual vibe with customers and each other. No snobby stylists here! Staff with free time came over with tips for my stylist to ensure the best possible outcome and also offered beverages and refills regularly. What a nice touch! Rayna did an EXCELLENT job on my hair. I'd never seen her before and I was looking for a completely new style. She was open to my guidance on what I thought would look best, but also brought her expertise and I am thrilled with my hair, which is fine and straight and she was able to give it great body and style. Well worth the money (mid-range salon cost). She is also a very friendly and made me feel very comfortable and social right away, which usually is not the case with me and stylists. I saw a variety of clientele: women, men, children, and seniors. I think it's pretty likely the salon has someone on staff to meet all types of hair needs. And a big bonus is that they are open on Sundays! I will be returning and I hope this review encourages you to check out the salon because I know how hard it is to find the right stylist.
