Bangbelly Bistro
Stopped into this place for a late lunch. We were greeted by friendly staff. Restaurant was clean and well laid out. Waitress was also friendly and very helpful. Food arrived shortly after ordering and arrived hot and fresh. We also picked up some fresh desert to eat later in the day. The food was plentiful and excellent. Make sure and visit this place when in Fogo.

I came here to treat myself on a rainy day. I came a bit before noon and soon the dining area was filled up well. So cutely decorated inside. Even though it was foggy and rainy outside, inside the restaurant was bright, colorful and open. I was recommended fish and chips by the local but I had to try cod and corn chowder. Well this chowder was gigantic! I was almost full with the chowder and had to take fish and chips back to my room. I also had tea at the end. Such a cute cup and saucer I could drink from. Loved everything about this restaurant. Friendly servers and nice 80s music in the background. Highly recommended.

The cod dinner was exceptional. Loved the creamy garlic sauce. The complimentary corn soup and little roll was very good.Found the service a bit sliw but the staff were very friendly. The dessert was good but pricey for the size.

We wondered why the great reviews, now we know. Starter was a split pea fritter, crunchy and not greasy and maybe the best corn chowder ever. They must have run the corn through a sieve and then added cream, delicious. The caesar salad was the best we've ever had, full of flavour, lots of dressing and real bacon bits. My wife's tamari ribs were fall off the bone and excellent. I had korean chicken crunchy coating, and just enough zing to wake you up. I usually don't like artichokes but these were deep fried ? and wonderful. Desert was a snowball and earl grey pound cake with screeched raisins. Yummy. Accompany that with a fine kim crawford white wine and attentive Joelle, the server, not cheap but i echo the 5 star ratings.

This place absolutely delights. From the decor, to the wonderful ambiance, to the friendly staff, to the food itself. I could have eaten lunch and dinner here every day we were on the island. We had the chicken" sandwich made vegan with the dill pickled fries and the vegan burger. We came back another day and had the iced tea latte. Everything was delicious and they were able to veganize our meal without any difficulty."

Bangbelly was an absolute blast to go to! The food was an absolute delight and a must try, one of the guys who works there gave us free chowder, and the employees were all very welcoming and give off a genuine vibe about their joy of working there. If I could come back, I definitely would! 10/10

Came on a Friday in July and even though it was full and really busy the waitress managed to ask us how we were doing many times which we really appreciated. She interacted with our children which we loved and their hot chocolate had latte style art on it so our kids were pumped! We’ve done a lot of cafes and this was their first for that.Chai tea was perfect. Dill pickle fries delicious. Shrimp roll, salad and cod and corn chowder soup were all amazing. A gem to have in Fogo. I hope others enjoy it as much as we did. Great atmosphere.

The food here is amazing! I ate here twice in 3 days. The fish and chips were so good that I had it twice and I live in St. John’s which has the best fish and chips in the world imho - this fee and chee stacks up well. The salads, beer and garlic fingers are also top class. Staff are awesome. Highly, highly recommend.

Bang Belly never disappoints! We ate there recently for a family supper. The current menu is outstanding. Highly enjoyed the romesco crostini, crispy broccoli, and amuse bouche of corn chowder with a fresh mini roll! Their fish and chips is top notch as well. A welcoming atmosphere with a casual, yet special feel for a night out :) keep up the amazing work!

Enjoyed my first experience at Bangbelly so much! Was greeted at the door with a smile by Sandy, the charismatic host and seated at a cozy table in the corner. My partner and I ordered a couple delicious ice teas (get the Very Berry!) and ate the most fantastic buttermilk chicken tenders I've ever had in my life! We shared the chicken sandwich and chicken and waffles, both were to die for. Get the signature fries with seasonings!Lots of variety, lots of flavour and a great menu for any time of the day. Have been back a few times and had great cod chowder, cheeseburgers and alfredo pasta. 10/10!
