From the moment I talked to Darren on the phone, I knew I had the right business and the right guy !!! We have a Nexus walker and the brakes had failed…again, just being repaired 6 months prior at another mobility business, their answer being wearable parts and not covered, I stressed how unhappy I was with that result , especially paying $270 for the right brakes and similar costs for the left brake 3 months prior to the right brake, but to no availDarren took everything under control, called the parts department to find that the walker brakes had failed because they were broken, not just worn and sent parts for the right and left brakes ….FULLY COVERED , mentioning also they should have been warrantied the first time aroundSo needless to say we are happy customersEverything was done in a matter of days, professionally and with a nominal labour service feeWe feel we have become “family” and will deal with Darren and Independent abilities from now on for all our mobility needs and have spoken of Darren’s personal service highly to many friends that either need, or know someone that needs help in various lines of mobilityIt was so nice to see personal service, responsibility and honesty in a businessWe have now ordered a travel buggy and feel confident we will have the same friendly, personal and fast serviceThank you so much DarrenJust having the stress relieved over dealing with these needs is more than we can express and much appreciatedF. Darren and his staff not only spent time with me to help me determine what I need in my custom wheelchair, but he delivered it himself right to my front door and showed me how to set it up and adjust it as needed. He has since checked in with me twice to see how it was going and ask if there was anything I needed help with. Knowledge and full service, an excellent experience!

Excellent service!!I called with an issue with my dads Scooter, was asked to bring it to the shop so the technician could assess the problem after a few short minutes speaking with the technician he had the problem figured out! sent me on my way with instructions on how to fix the issue myself wonderful experience ! very helpful ! very knowledgable ! most definitely will use the services again and recommend to others before you beat it with a “hammer” call these guys I’m sure you’ll be happy!!

This is the first time I encountered Independent Abilities.I was in need of some information only, and yet was treated like a lifelong customer. Darrin took great lengths to make sure I found what I needed to know even though there was no sale to be had on this occasion.When I need anything in the future, this is the only place I'll shop.

This place is amazing! Person first service! Professional, courteous and fully understanding of the varying needs of us living with a disability. They treated me with respect and every service I had was done timely and with a smile. I had a grab bar installed in my washroom, bought a great shower chair and was fitted with a walker the same day I needed it. All government paperwork is smoothly taken care of with this business and your OT if needed. I would do a commercial for this business! Top rate!

We visited the store yesterday morning 4/26/22. We found what we were looking for and the owner Darren was very helpful and knowledgeable. We ordered a City Travel Buggy. Tested it in the store and really liked it. It wont be in the store for pickup until May sometime. It was a pleasure dealing with the store. Now just looking forward to it coming in. Thanks to the staff for their great and honest service. I can’t believe I received a product at no cost due to the generosity of a previous client that purchased it and didn’t get to use it. They didn’t want a refund but forwarded the payment to the next client who needed it.
