Small Paws Rescue is the most professional rescue I have ever known! Their love & dedication to Bichons is immeasurable. I have never seen a rescue that goes so far to rescue and save Bichons. Their national network of volunteers speaks volumes of their dedication to this breed. No matter the cost, the distance or the time, they open their hearts again and again. They make sure every dog is well vetted and place into the perfect and forever, loving home. We have been blessed to have received loving companions from them. I highly recommend them.

We adopted Yoda 10 years ago and he just passed away this August 8-10-22. He was my best friend and we have so many wonderful memories that we made together . I am so thankful for your rescue and all that you do for these loving little dogs!

Small Paws Rescue puts the dogs first every day. After all it's about the dogs being taken care of and find them a furever home isn't it?! Some people may think it's about them and get a bit upset when they don't get their way. SPR has a strict adoption and vetting process for adopters and volunteers. If you didn't get approved then instead of bashing a volunteer organization ask yourself what can you do to be approved. I've adopted 5 Bichons thru SPR. I didn't have to give personal information to 8 different people like some negative Nellie posted. If you had a to do that then you've got your rescue groups confused. If you say you went to them and couldn't get in touch with anyone. I'd say you didn't try. There isn't a store front. You can find SPR info on the website and it lists volunteers in each state. I've already been contacted by 2-3 people inquiring about how to adopt. I also had to be vetted to be a volunteer. I had 8 Bichons at one time. My wife and I prefer senior dogs. They get spoiled in my house until they cross the rainbow bridge.

My husband and I are animal lovers and particularly feel drawn to Bichons and their sweet and lovable personalities. We adopted a bonded pair from Small Paws that were 6 and 7 years old. This organization was wonderful to work with. Everyone that we talked to was such a pleasure to work with, and you can hear the love they have for the dogs when you talk to them and you can feel it through their written responses. We can't say enough about our experience of adopting our pair, and we would suggest anyone that is interested in a Bichon Frise to contact Small Paws.

I became aware of Small Paws Rescue after a beloved pet died in 2004. SPR is the largest single-breed rescue in the world, taking in and placing Bichon Frise's of all ages and stages of health. The founder, Robin, is a joy to work with, and loves each of the pets she rescues and places. They are a 501C3 foundation, and are extremely professional and trustworthy. I have adopted multiple bichons from SPR. They were all beloved and became an integral part of my family until their deaths.I have also volunteered with SPR, and have personal experience with their adoption process. Robin and her team are meticulous about identifying the perfect home for her rescue babies. All funds raised for their cause go directly to caring for and supporting this rescue operation. There is no waste, but no expense is spared to provide the best medical care possible for the pets.SPR is well-loved by those who have adopted a pet from their organization, and by their volunteers. There is no greater praise that can be given - animal rescue is a high calling. Robin and Small Paws Rescue are to be praised for their love and dedication to this cause. I have been personally and profoundly blessed to know Small Paws Rescue and Robin.

I have been a member and donor of Small Paws Rescue for over 8 years. This organization is superb. The dedication of the volunteers in helping rescue Bichon's 24/7 is truly inspiring. Not to mention the total commitment of the Board Members in running this organization for over 25 years. If you have a special place in your heart for little Bichon's and want to help save so many that are often thrown away like garbage, this is the rescue group to make your donations.

We had a great experience with Small Paws Rescue! The process was efficient, very professional, and Bonnie went above and beyond to coordinate. Our sweet pup is healthy and adjusted quickly to our home because of his good care with Small Paws.

I don't even know where to start...this organization is AMAZING! They care so deeply for these helpless Bichons, and other mixes that sometimes come through =) The director, Robin, is more passionate about Bichons than I've ever seen and she cares so much, she lives for these fur babies. The rest of the board and all the volunteers are so great to work with. I received a very special Bichon from Small Paws and am forever grateful to them. Thank you for everything Small Paws!

I am not only a volunteer for Small Paws Rescue, but my husband and I have adopted 4 Bichons through SPR. They came to us in great health and have been such joys! Two have crossed the rainbow bridge and we miss them so much! But, we are so thankful! Highly HIGHLY recommend Small Paws Rescue! You will NOT be disappointed!

I adopted a Bichon from them back in the early 2000's...best dog I ever had. The next time I adopt, it will be through them.
