GENTEK is code for “they basically do everything outside of your home”. Wow. The showroom was way too small for all that they can do, but the service and explanation made up for it. Highly recommend.

This review is mainly geared towards my sales rep Jim from the Kitchener location.I opened my cash account in 2021 and was given contractor pricing rates on mainly aluminum & rainware products. The pricing I recieved was on par with my other suppliers rates & comparable to other contractors I've talked to in the industry.Suddenly a few months into the year after securing my contractor pricing on gutter coils, rain ware products and other aluminum products - which were my main day to day purchases, these prices suddenly sky rocketed - more then 200% which was at a level so I high I wouldn't be able to continue my operations. Coincidentally the price increases happened to coincide with the exact time I pulled all my services and operations from another Exterior service company company I was working closely withOut of Kitchener.When I confronted my sales rep Jim about it I wasn't given a straight answer nor was there any attempt made to keep my business or lower my rates - I even showed proof of my rates with other supply company's and copies of other contractors rates for the same material. I spend a large amount of money per year on materials, well over 200k a year.I've since been told that my rates were raised because of an outside influence within the industry after pulling my services from this other exterior Reno company. I'm a little bit shocked to see that this sales rep and the managers at this location allow the manipulation of their customers prices from outside influences with no legitimacy behind these increases. Luckily I was able to find better products and better pricing through Convoy building Supplies and Kaycan Building supplies which allowed me to continue my day to day operations.I'm by no means a large competitor to this other service company as I am a small family owned business and a father of 4 young children just trying to pay the bills.I'm not writing this review because I'm looking for lower rates - as I've long since moved my business elsewhere, BUT I would suggest to anyone reading this review to check your pricing through Gentek and/or take your business to other suppliers such as Kaycan, Convoy, mitten Etc. You will recieve honest pricing and fair service no matter who you are or who you refuse to work with. If someone other than Jim from Gentek can give me a legitimate reason as to why my prices over night went up more then 200% I'll re think my opinion and be happy to provide an update to this review.

Seems like every time I visit this location there has been a complete turn over of staff. All new faces. Not sure what to make of that observation.They need to train their people in good customer relations. Most of my customer experience at Gentek has been less than stellar. They make me feel like I am a bother to them and they can’t wait until I leave. Very curt and all business.

Great service!I had two windows that were installed in 2016 by a contactor. Noticed the seal had gone between the two pcs of glass. Contacted Gentek and they replaced the glass under warranty. Quick, professional service, from first contact to the technician replacing yesterday.Nice to see a company stand behind their work without hassles.

Terrible service, horrible material. Just a nightmare to deal with. Do yourself a favour and go to kaycan
