Words can't describe the amazing feeling you get when you meet the amazing duo of Gerard and Caio...owners of this truly gorgeous property and all around kind and caring humans. They, together with our amazing team of vendors, helped to make our wedding a once in a lifetime experience for not only my husband and I but also for our family and friends as well.The minute we drove up to the property we felt a feeling of love that words can't describe. The amazing structures (barn, shelter and cabin), were only made more beautiful by the surrounding mountains, blue sky, and lush forest...truly a magical setting.No matter the need or want, G & C endeavoured to help make our dreams come true. The vendors that were recommended, the execution of the days leading up to the event, day of support, and the countless hours of communication and advice they gave turned what is typically known to be a stressful time into one we truly enjoyed! We always looked forward to visiting the property during our preparation and our conversations with G & C throughout the process.To anyone planning an event or looking for a getaway you must consider this incredible place! Not only will your eyes be amazed with the beauty around you, your heart will be full after experiencing the kindness of Gerard and Caio.10/10 experience, and we will absolutely be coming back as many times as we possibly can :)

Our stay in the cabin was a spur of the moment decision to get away for some R&R and it exceeded our expectations! It is off grid yet it had every appliance and amenity we were used to. The place was impeccably clean and the beds are worth 10 stars! The cabin can host a large family gathering as it will sleep 15 people comfortably. Our young children really enjoyed the unique hot tub experience! The owners will do anything to ensure you have the BEST time! They even went through the effort to mail jewelry we had forgotten when we left which we greatly appreciate! Overall we had a great time and there are no regrets. Oh and the scenery is Amazing!!

I am hesitant to leave a review as I don't want to give away such a beautiful secret but it's mean not to share so here goes!We discovered this incredible place looking for a venue for my music and singing retreats and have been regular guests of the cabin ever since. We have stayed in the heat of summer and mid winter and either time,  it's beautiful, comfortable and provides so many options for hikes and adventure or simply relaxing. Its perfect for anyone looking for an off grid" feel without losing the conveniences and luxuries of a relaxing and comfortable getaway. Gerard and Caio are incredible hosts and if you get to meet Mowgli you are in luck!  We can't wait to get back to our favorite place! Many thanks Emma & Jason"

Gerard and Caio are absolutely wonderful to deal with! Some friends of ours got married here over the thanksgiving weekend and it was truly wonderful! I was part of the planning process and visited the property ahead of the event, and they made every aspect of putting this event together an absolute joy for the couple. Their warmth and kindness is unmistakable.

DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE!We had bad and traumatic experience with owner in this place. We book this place for 2 nights july 3-5, 2023. But the day after we book this place we decided to cancel, because some of us are not coming. We told the owner that we had to cancel it but they refuse to refund the money, we pay $800 for 2 nights the day we book the place. Since there is no cancellation or refund from the owner, those days are still book for us. July 3, 2023 late night when we come to this place 9:30pm around 15 guest. And because it too late we have kids and elderly, my cousin are trying to negotiate with them even to sleep one night coz we travel 6 hours just to get there and it was too late to travel and look for other place to stay. And owners refuse to accomodate us, they want us to pay extra $1000 on top of ($800). When we told them that the amount their asking is not reasonable they want us to leave their cabin and our money was not refund. We end up sleeping in our cars that night and seeing our kid and elderly are not comportable, never eat dinner it was late and everywhere are close. Feels like we are scam with this people they get and trying to get more money from us just like that. Their place is unsafe lots of tall grass around their cabin not properly maintain, no Power/electricity all they have is generator that we had to turn off every 10 hours, No wifi , No firewood supposedly when you are renting it was included. Their road is rough and too far from the main road. Your money and time to spend here are not worth it.There are lots of good places to stay so dont consider this place anymore for your stay. griddy and heartless people specially for ederly and kid are not tolerated. There are people giving bad reviews like this because of thier experiences. Maybe you earned money from us but not the good feedback. Your bussiness will continue but your reputation will not. We will always remember your place for sure and we will not endorse it to anyone.

Gerard and Ciao are some of the nicest people my wife and I have ever met. We had my wedding here and they helped make it one of the best days of our lives. They were very generous and you could feel the love radiating off of them. The scenery is absolutely world class. We cannot think of one thing that would of made it better than what we experienced. Our guests told us that they had the time of their lives too! If you're wondering about having your wedding at Gerard and Ciao's House of the Friesians, do it!! You will have the time of your life!

The setting speaks for itself. A rustic barn on a working ranch in the middle of the mountains. Though rustic, the rooms are clean and hotel worthy. The owner, Gerard, is one of the best parts about this rental. He bent over backwards for us. When it was clear that it would rain for our wedding, he arranged to have my wife brought through the barn on horse and carriage through the crowd of our guests. When the sky cleared for our photos, he brought a canoe to the lake so we could take pictures there. Our wedding felt casual and intimate. The hand crafted log tables and chairs require minimal decorations to make beautiful. My only warning is that the chairs and tables are very heavy and moving them for the reception and back the next morning is a lot of work and requires many hands to make it easier. Make sure you have scheduled a time for your helpers to be there.Thank you Gerard for all you did for us to create a wonderful wedding even in the rain.

We were interested in this venue and sent a $1000 deposit to hold the dates for a few days so we could travel out and check it out. Gerard was of no help once we got there. We were left to basically look at stuff on our own. Due to Covid restrictions we haven't been able to plan a wedding for 150 people and said we would not be needing the dates. We told him this a few days after sending the money and a full year before our intended dates. No co tracts were signed and Gerard refuses to return our deposit. He said if it booked we would get it back…. Well, The venue booked on the days that we were interested in and he still refuses to return our money. Gerard is an absolute nightmare to deal with abs to be honest the venue isn’t really that great to begin with.After reading the other 1 star reviews I see EXACTLY what they are talking about.And we are left having to deal with lawyers because of this Horrible horrible horrible experience with these crooks

My family and I stayed at the log cabin for just under a week, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our hosts were very gracious and welcoming. They even gave us fresh eggs from their chickens, and baked muffins as well. There were lots of activities, such as horse riding, canoeing, hiking, and that's just to name a few. Mr. Gerard made sure that we had lots to do lots of fun during our stay. If you want a media and internet free getaway, I highly recommend staying here.

Where to even begin? We had our wedding at House of the Friesians and it could not have possibly been a more perfect weekend. Gerard and Caio (as well as the rest of their family and animals) are some of the most kind and welcoming people we have ever met. Gerard was helpful, welcoming, on top of the details right from the beginning, and always quick to answer our questions. The venue was clean and well organized for us, they were flexible and easy-going, and made us and our friends who stayed on-site feel completely at home for the weekend. Thank you so much Gerard and Caio for making our wedding beautiful, fun, and stress-free!
