The breakfast area is way too small and crowded, and there were not enough tables for everyone. Perhaps there should be more tables right outside the area, or at least some benches to sit in.There was no soap to be used, neither in bars nor in liquid. We had to wash ourselves with some time of hair gel. Speaking of which, they also had mouthwash and shampoo/conditioner, but not a toothpaste? Weird.Would be nice if the rooms had a minibar/mini fridge, which is something I expected every hotel to have. But it is understandable, since the rooms are way too small to fit one anyway. Unless they got rid of the useless chair and put one in its place. They refused to change our double bed with two separate beds, which again, is something I'd expect out of every hotel.Cleaning was mostly good, expect we found a dirty old sock that didn't belong to us in the bottom last shelf of the armoire. Don't expect everything to be sparkling then. There are no elevators or any type of accessible stairs. Don't come here if you use a wheelchair or have any type of physical condition that makes it hard to walk the many stairs throughout its complicated layout.

You get exactly what you pay for - great location and a clean room. That’s it, really. The room was good, clean sheets, clean bathroom, good AC. No hot water tho.The location is also great and super convenient. To balance all “goods” - there is a dingy sex shop in the same building as the hotel, there are bums sleeping on the street right in front of the building, and there is no AC in the common hotel areas. So, 4 stars for honesty. But really, it is a 2-star place at best

Could have been a cute stay downtown. No complaints about the room itself but the homeless people smoking in the stairways, and wandering about the lobby talking to Jesus while on drugs (past the locked door which front desk has to buzz you through) really killed this place for us. Completely uncomfortable stay.

Rooms are OK, breakfast as self service - you can eat what you wish, but low variability. Unfortunately music and screaming of drunk people is heard to rooms pretty good. Bathrooms are clean.

Not recommended, there are a lot of other hotels near this one that are better. There is not a private bathroom which really irritates me, and in one word uncomfortable.

BIG HEADS UP for individuals with Disabilities or Those with Heavy Luggage:This hotel does not provide elevator access. To access the hotel from the street, there are 31 stairs that need to be climbed, and additionally, stairs must be taken from the lobby to reach the rooms. It’s an old building very outdated. Cute and historic though .Rooms are clean and comfortable, however, the sheets and towels are very old but clean.

Small rooms. Noisy. Sounded like the guy above us was doing laps. Continental breakfast was minimal. Great downtown location. Walk out to Saint Catherine St.

The room was great, it had both a fan and AC. There were many mirrors in the bedroom, helpful for getting ready. The shared bathrooms were very clean at all hours of the day. The location is perfect for exploring many of the city's attractions. The only thing that was an unexpected challenge was how spotty the wifi was, so you may have to make use of local coffee shops (of which there's plenty). Also, as other reviews note, there are only stairs and it can feel endless if you do not pack light!

Hotel Quartier Des Spectacles
Fairly well-priced (for downtown Montreal), and in an excellent location for travelers - basically an equal distance between the bus and train stations. The budget room was small but cozy, and quite clean contrary to a number of other reviews. Great A/C as well. The bed was clean, and, while not exactly a featherbed, was still enough for a good night's sleep. Additionally, the shared bathrooms were clean and easy to locate. Check in/ check out was incredibly straightforward and the 24hr front desk is great if you have an early connection. However, this is not the place to stay if you are handicapped or have issues with stairs. There are several flights to get to rooms or simply to check in, and they are quite uneven.

Very well priced! Great for genz or millenial travellers! Very clean room! Shared bathrooms is a non-issue to be honest as it was always available when I needed it. Loosing a star for no parking but it's right next to place des arts and overnight parking was only 35$. Central to everything you need, walking distance to malls, underground tunnels, metro/subway.Important: not wheelchair accessible. Lots of stairs. No ground floor.
