TD Direct Investing Investor Centre

I have been trying to transfer my money from a different institution *into* my TD Waterhouse SDRRSP account since last October . They do NOT process my Fax requests (the only way I can transfer!) and are a black hole trying to reach their back office. The TD WH trading desk last I tried mid January was 90 minutes on hold. I think it is time to move my money somewhere else more responsive.

Absolutely dreadful. I am quite sure the brokers & traders can get through with their transactions on the phone. What about the regular customers? It is time that TD showed respect for their customers. There are some transactions that cannot be done online. We can only get them done by calling in. UNFORTUNATELY, there is NO ONE TO ANSWER THE PHONES!! We get put into an endless musical (???) loop of listening to kids banging on kitchen pots and pans with a wooden spoon. At least they could improve the music they provide. I feel sorry for the employees who may on occasion finally answer the phone to help us. REALLY TD, YOU NEED TO DO BETTER by your customers.

2 hours hold time... they want me to deposit more money but ic an't even see my account when I wakeup... this is unfair

Like other customers, I have been on hold for over an hour for transaction that I am unable to do online. You would think they could implement a call back service. I don't have the time to be on hold for this long but don't have a choice. People on the phone are fine and service is good once you get someone. Why not hire more people. Oh, i know, because you can make more money not doing that. I think service like this might be why Robinhood is doing so well.I had to update this as it got worse. On hold for 2 hours and then system comes on states technically difficulties and hangs up on me?

UPDATED TO AD AS OF JANUARY 12, 2023 (NOW ALMOST 5 MONTHS OF FIGHTING)TD STILL HAS NOT GIVEN ME THE FUNDS FOR THESE SHARES IN MY ACCOUNT. CLAIM THEY ARE STILL PROCESSING" TD IS NOTHING BUT THEIVESS WHO DONT CARE ABOUT YOU. DO NOT INVEST WITH THEM!!!!! I GAVE THEM OVER $3K WORTH OF SHARES IN AUGUST AND STILL DO NOT HAVE THEM IN MY ACCOUNT!!!I wish I could give this zero stars.On Aug 25

Again, another long wait on hold and I also had to move on and hang up. Although the customer service rep. confirmed my call back number, no such call was received. Forget the phone service just walk into the nearest office, if you have that luxury.

2 hours waiting on hold to talk to someone to update my mailing address. Someone finally answered and she transferred me to a different department to get my information updated. Another long wait on hold until I finally gave up and hung up.

hey td your think or swim program is horrible to use lately super glitchy ,you have no real customer service i voice my concerns to no help at all.so currently im on the phone for 49 minutes trying to place a order, the program is frozen and i cant tell if i have the positions or not ,this is unacceptable, not to mention is there something wrong with us Canadians cause we have to pay for this service and your american customers use it for free, and since you went free commissions for your better american customers the program is a absolute mess to deal with, now escalating my issues and seeing if consumer watch will look into your reasoning why Canadians are being charged for this service, now im on the phone for 54 min?????????...!!!!!!! seriously i talked to your team there and know almost all of them by name you only have 3 supervisors for all of Canada dont you think we deserve better than a hour wait time for placing a trade, huge lack of workers there to handle issues and there staff is unprofessional kind but lack any understanding of customer service. fair warning to anyone thinking of using td they dont care in the slights bit users be warned long wait times bad customer service or none depending if they answer the phone and a supper slow program in which i requested they warn there customers about the issues but no warning to us at all bottom line is think or swim is 1/10. ive been a customer at td for over 20 years and have been using there trading platform since 2014 i feel were test pilots helping them work out the issues totally unacceptable will be escalation all my concerns also posting my videos and phone conversation to the bbb and social media, get you act together td.!!!!

Invest your money literally anywhere else. Their fees are outrageous. The time it takes for trades and for money to settle is way too long. Almost any other trading platform is better. Would never recommend TD direct investing to anyone.

This service or lack there of should permanently be closed. I don't even have the words to express my outrage at the moment. TD made a mistake and opened up the wrong kind of account and now I need to waste my valuable time on hold trying to close it. You can open up new accounts online, but can't close them? How in the #@$%% does that make sense. I would give them 0 stars if I could. Useless
