I took one of his classes and had an absolute blast. Chris is a great guy to learn from - clearly very passionate about what he does and it shows. He explained everything, was very patient, and answered any questions. I learned a lot and came away with a very cool knife that I can't wait to put to use in my kitchen. Very highly recommended if you're interested in knife-making.

Second time at a class at Black Cat Metal and both times have been an amazing experience. Thanks to Chris’s expertise, attention to detail and excellent tutelage I, a complete newbie, was able to create a knife that I’m very proud of and that will remind me of the great experience I had every time I use it.

One of my friends and I took our two 13 year old boys to see Chris on one of our weekly “Friday Guy Days.” My son is still telling me it was the best day we’ve had so far and wants to set up a full forge in our garage!Chris is very laid back, knowledgeable, passionate and is an awesome teacher. From the moment we walked through his doors he made us feel like we were old friends just hanging out and having fun. If you are thinking about one of his classes, just book it, it’s absolutely worth the experience!

Amazing experience! We went here with a bachelor party and Chris was incredible. Super cool to see how everything works and really interesting to go from a piece of steel to a blade over the day. Highly recommended!
