They guided us through what needed to be done, were responsive to our emails and phone calls, and, as we were in from out of town, they worked with the medical examiner to rush some necessary documentation so we would not have to remain in town any longer than necessary. Essential cremations was unfortunately one of the only cost effective options for basic cremations in Grande Prairie. After losing a family member, there was a potential for transportation to Edmonton where the cost of basic service is 1/4 of Grande Prairie. After speaking with both funeral homes in town, the cost is nearly $4000 for a standard cremation, leaving family members in a situation where out of pocket cost may be crippling financially. Essential prices their basic package at $2500 which is the amount of the federal death benefit. I met with Craig the funeral director who explained in every detail the process, and billing of the services provided. I was very impressed with their professionalism and simplicity. I was able to have my loved one transported from the hospital and cremated in a timely manner. Thank you for making a difficult time a little easier.
