Ambleside Animal Hospital

my kitten needed to be neutered in Ambleside Animal Hospital cause it was close to my house. after the surgery, I took my cat home and right away he took his cone off and start licking his stiches, I called the clinic and they asked if it's emergency which I confirmed and I was talking about his stiches and cone situation, then the nurse stopped me in middle of my words and replied emergency means if my cat is dying only which made me so mad after spending lots of money in this hospital that they can't do anything about emergency situations like that. At the end she claimed that they are not responsible and don't care about after surgery problems. Honestly they showing their kind face when they asking for money but if something emergency happens, it's on your own. I would never take my cat back to this hospital because I'm not gonna risk my cat's life again.

Wonderful, caring staff at the top of their field. I appreciate their knowledge, patience and often holistic approach to treatment that isn’t drug-first, and addresses environment, behaviour and communication, which helps me to help my dog.Example: My aging dog hasn’t been sleeping well, especially during storms. I brought him in for an exam in January. Instead of just prescribing sedatives, the vet recommended night lights and a white noise machine, as he might be starting to lose some vision or hearing. We are trying it and so far so good!The service is costly compared to many other vets on the North Shore. It’s 100% worthwhile, but if you’re on a budget, definitely ask for fees before jumping into treatment; the staff doesn’t usually communicate that info during the appointment.

Dr Anne came to our house to help us say goodbye to our dog Charlie, her compassion and kindness helped so much to get through this very tough and emotional process. And to be able to have Charlie comfortable and happy to the end was priceless. We would highly recommend her and her team to anyone needing to let a pet go.❤️

Ambleside Veterinary has been the most responsive and professional, clear and concise each time we have brought Bert the pug there. Whether it was teeth cleaning and extractions or referrals to sub-specialists, I am assured that Dr. Sang not only gave us the best options with clear implications of the each but that she did so out of her sincere kindness and care for the welfare of my dog. I have owned many dogs over multiple decades and can reflective and sincerely say that this is the best veterinary care my dog, and I as an owner, have experienced.

I don't even know how to begin to thank Dr. Caroline Niegos for treating my cat Angel. My cat had been experiencing chewing issues for a long time, started losing a lot of weight, and was hardly eating anything. Her previous vet kept saying nothing was wrong with her teeth or gums, but when we saw Dr. Niegos she immediately found the issue. My cat had a huge red sore at the back of her mouth. We are so fortunate that we saw Dr. Niegos; I truly believe she saved my cat's life. Thank you Dr. Niegos from the bottom of my heart!

Ambleside Animal Hospital has been our vet for approximately 10 years, and in that time we have had nothing but excellent experiences. We recently lost our senior dog to heart disease, and they truly went above and beyond to care for him. Having such an amazing team to turn to for help during difficult circumstances was truly a lifeline for me and my pet. No matter who we worked with on any given day, the calibre for care was always very high, and the staff at Ambleside demonstrated exceptional compassion and professionalism in all interactions with us. I have recommended them on many occasions over the years, and will continue to do so with confidence after the many appointments I have had with them this year. Thank you to the Ambleside team, especially to Dr. Sang and Dr. Wilke for all their help over the years. I am grateful to be a client at this hospital.

I took my very sick 4-month old puppy, Kaia, to Ambleside hospital late last night as her health was declining rapidly - they were able to squeeze me in. Dr. Liz Sang was very thorough and helpful. She was also straight forward that Kaia needed a specialist's care as soon as possible. Although Kaia is still in recovery, she is in much better spirits today after spending the night at Canada West.I returned today to purchase new puppy food for her (puppy development) as this was recommended to me and it is evident Kaia needs it. I am over the moon to give my regular-vet-visit business to this hospital. :)Thank you very much to the front staff, the tech who assisted, and Dr. Sang.- love Kaia and I <3

So far so good! I saw Dr Wilkie for my rescue dog. Her approach was very gentle and clear. I have left the VCA animal clinics as I started running into issues with how their clinics are run. I’ve had 3 dogs in 24 years and have been to a number of vets, and I know a bad business when I find it. Thank the heavens for Ambleside animal hospital. They seem to have have their stuff together and it seems to be more about the animal care as a first priority rather than scamming clients into expensive tests that reveal nothing. The environment in the office is very professional at Ambleside, and that starts even with your initial phone call to the receptionists. Even the receptionists care! How refreshing! Phone calls aren’t rushed, and there’s no unnecessary attitude over the phone. I really like this place and will continue to take my pets here. Thanks guys!

A great group of caring pet lovers we highly recommend. Sadly, we recently lost our boy but sincerely thank Dr. Chris for all his years of care and Dr. Anne and Tessa for their compassion at the end of Hunter's life.

Dr. Lisa St. Clair helped my boyfriend and I with our 2 year old kitty, Ollie. We came in so incredibly worried about Ollie and Dr. St. Clair was able to quickly check his vitals and give us plenty of options for treatment. She was incredibly loving, kind and completely empathic to our extremely loved fur child. Ollie is now feeling a lot better, and is continuing to improve.
