The Governor's Bridge Lookout
Very short walk up from Brick Works. Gives you a fantastic view of downtown Toronto as well as Don Valley. Sure visit, if you're at Brick Works!

The Governor's Bridge Lookout
The Governor's Bridge Lookout is a long walk from the downtown area of Toronto, but is well worth your time. Before you set out, check out how much time it takes to get to the lookout in order to ensure that you can arrive half an hour before sunset. As it gets darker, it's great to watch the skyline of the city turn into a collection of distant silhouettes.

Beautiful view of the Don valley parkway and downtown skyline. Very picturesque during fall season. Can be crowded during weekends.

The Governor's Bridge Lookout
The Governor's Bridge is on Governor's Road at Nesbitt Drive, about 200 meters west of the intersection of Nesbitt and Bayview, north of the Brick Works. Clearly, if that is the place, the view is decent. But the location of Google Maps is far from there, in the middle of the Brick Works, requiring a long walk from the actual site of the Governor's Bridge into the valley via the Chorley Park switchback trail and then into the valley and across. The lookout in the Brick Works might include a view of Governor's Bridge but that is a minor point of interest from there,

I never knew about this place, just stumbled upon it while enjoying a walk around the ever green brickworks. This is great place for viewing or shooting Toronto's skyline, unfortunately I didn't have the correct lens. Perfect excuse for a future visit.

Great view of the downtown and the old pit mine, definitely worth the walk up the hill to get up here.

The Governor's Bridge Lookout
an update: September 24th:I had visited the lookout yesterday, and the site has been cleaned: no broken glass this time, just empty plastic bottles and beer cans. the vandals broke a piece off of the second commemorative plate (really, is there a grudge against the people named on it?). As I was there, two ladies were lamenting on the pitiful state of it, as one of them apparently knew some of the people mentioned on the plates.I also chatted with a regular who witnessed young people driving an SUV one evening to party there. The city of Toronto is not doing a very good job in monitoring this place obviously. Creating an obstacle for vehicles would be a good idea (sturdy enough to withstand the vandals' energy though). I also spoke with the volunteers from the Evergreen Brickworks who informed me that all the area north of their buildings does not belong to them and is supposed to be taken care by the city.Original Post: August 2022.This place had deteriorated really badly since last time I had visited it (about a year ago). it used to be a pleasure to go there, sit down, admire the view and relax, but it is very unwelcoming now: shattered glass from broken beer bottles, garbage, vandalised commemorative plate (with a big chunk missing), remnants of unauthorised bonfires… really sad. Not sure who is in charge of this place, but they totally neglected this place. The view is not so splendid anymore either, as the fast growing sumach trees are in the way now (my bet is that the fact that this space is not visible anymore invites certain kind of behaviours that contribute to the current sad condition). I really wish some authorities (the City of Toronto? Evergreen Brickworks?) claim this space and take care of it.

Great view, big hike up the ridge to get to a nice spot just about level with the, Valley" chimney stack."
