Sword 'n' Steele

I am from Dallas, Texas. I just finished reading the hobbit with my kids and they wanted to paint Thorin and Company. We went to 4 different stores in the DFW metroplex, including 2 GW stores, and were unable to find it. We came to Newfoundland for vacation and checked our Sword n’ Steele on a whim. Not only did they have Thorin and Company, much to my children’s delight, they had more Lord of the Rings/Hobbit merchandise for sale than all 4 stores I went to in DFW combined. Aaaaand, per the very nice man working there, their stock, though robust in my estimation, was picked over and they were expecting a shipment of new product later that day. I just casually perused the AoS and 40K stock but was very impressed with their selection. In terms of paints, they had full sets of multiple lines including Vallejo, GW, and TurboDork. Finally, the man working today threw in free candy bars for my kids. TLDR : great selection, friendly staff. Would highly recommend

amazing place, lovely owner. So helpful. I went in there and was dragged out by my family I was in heaven. Best hobby shop I have ever been in, fully recommend 100%. A good verity of nerd stuff from 40k to Sigmar and DnD and som much more. If you are in St'John you should look in to going there

Stopped in to buy some older series Magic the Gathering booster packs for my kids. Large selection, great service and friendly armosphere. Must stop for anyone into gaming and gamjng collectables.

Not a friendly atmosphere when I visited the store. Staff weren’t very engaging. Store is downtown, so sometimes parking is non-existent. Stock is heavy which is decent for when you need bulk. Pricing is questionable.

Avoid at all costs, went in bought 2 boosters of Vivid Voltage, 1 Pack of Top Loaders, $26. Go back the next day, and the owner charged me $80 for 7 Booster Packs of Vivid Voltage! 1 Pack Top Loaders, he makes up prices on the fly and avoids receipts, true scalper. P.O.S.

First time customer. The owner was extremely friendly and patient when explaining the basics of D&D and Warhammer. I ended up purchasing a Age of Sigmar starter set and paints. Price was on par with online prices and we even received a freebie with our purchase. I will certainly be back for all my future Warhammer needs.

First time visiting the store, they have a massive amount of cards models and game supplies form dnd warhammer and wargames. I went there the other day to buy some necrons for an army and the owner gave me very helpful advice on painting and what thinner to use and the different types of shade and layers and showed me tutorials on how to paint your models in a professional manner to look the best. the prices are match with the online warhammer store. and I couldn’t ask for anything better on the island, would definitely recommend if visit if you are interested in any hobbies they may offer

Really cool hobby shop full of merchandise; However, the owner is a swindler and a snake oil salesman. He is quite knowledgeable and comes off very friendly, but will try talking you into purchasing products he struggles to move or are extremely overpriced.Do yourself a favor and shop either online or somewhere else in the St. Johns area, Every alternative is more affordable for the same products.

Great place.I recently started playing DnD (Yes, Stranger Things got me into it) and stopped by this shop just to see the selection. The woman working there asked what I was looking for and walked me through some of the adventure books.Thanks for all the help, I look forward to running my next adventure with the book I picked up!
