This guy is the real deal! He has recently sharpened 16 chisels, 2 carpentry planes, a mower blade, a billhook, an axe and a few other items. He's a lovely friendly man and his workmanship is first class, my blades are surgically sharp which considering some were damaged, blunt and unusable is minor miracle!

At @Waggalotts dog grooming I have been using Gabor to sharpen my blades and scissors for about a year now. I have not been disappointed. His is quick to respond to messages, his fees are reasonable and his service is personal and polite. I can usually get an appointment within 2 weeks which as he's only in Colchester on a Wednesday is not long at all. He parks outside and is no trouble to my neighbours or customers. I have recommended him to both. Thanks Gabor see you again soon.

Absolutely brilliant service provided. The service and communication is brilliant from dropping off and collecting so if you're reading reviews about The Sharpener" definitely use his services.We have a push mower and the blades were awful and blunt as were ours shears. Dropped them off after contacting The sharpener and received a text to say when they were ready for collection....both items were sharpened brilliant...mower cuts as good as it did new and shears the same high quality. Prices are really reasonable will definitely use again....thanks for your great service."

I had a pair of clippers I genuinely didn’t think I could get the parts to fix. But The Sharpener came to the rescue. Absolutely brilliant service. Great dropping of service. My clippers looked like new when I picked them up. Highly recommend

Easy drop off and collect arrangement. Had 6 knives done. All done the same day and have been transformed back from blunt to razor sharp. Reasonable price too! Really happy and will definitely use again.

I dropped off my chisels and planer blade to The Sharpener, as they were all chipped, worn and in desperate need of being completely ground back and resharpened properly. I picked them up 2 days later and they are all absolutely amazing!! Completely reground back to the correct angles, and sharper than a razor. As a carpenter and a joiner, I rely on these and I am over the moon with the results, and I cannot recommend this company enough.

unfortunately, the distance is long, but even with postal delivery, the professional work was completed extra quickly! I am grateful to Gábor for giving new life to my cutting tools, I wholeheartedly recommend him to everyone!
