Excellent place for a stretch. Definitely worth a visit. The trails are all wood plank with shingles for grips. Still you need to have proper footwear. The kids had a blast and we have quick hikers and we did the whole loop to the waterfall and big tree in an hour. The views are amazing. The trees are stunning. Recommended. They also have a gazebo and picnic tables. No garbage cans so prepare for that. There are two outhouses that seemed clean.

My 82 year old grandfather and I did the hike yesterday. It was very beautiful and peaceful, to hear nothing but the trees creaking, the water flowing from the creek and the birds chirping around us it definitely reminds you to stop and slow down. The sky opened up on us just as we were coming down from the waterfall. Thank goodness for the shingles on the wooden planks or else we would've been slipping and sliding our way down the mountain. I can't wait to come here again.

Lovely trails. Well kept and also serves as a good rest stop with multiple pit toilets and picnic benches. An enjoyable day trip from PG

The Ancient Forest is beautiful place to stop and take a break. The trees are huge and the big tree is worth the hike. There are trails, walk ways, a waterfall, pit toilets, and a picnic table.

The Ancient Forest is a great park. It's pretty special to be able to explore an old growth Redwood forest this far inland. I read it's the only one in the world of that type that's not on a coast. We drove from Prince George just to do the hike and it was worth the trip. The trail is a wood boardwalk. Part of it is fully accessible. I can't imagine how many person hours it would take to build a boardwalk that winds through a forest and is so long that it takes an hour just to hike it.Tip: This place is like a rainforest. It was clear and sunny in Prince George but raining at the site. Bring rain gear.

Great stop for a relatively easy ~1-hour leisurely hike along a mostly boardwalk trail. Amazing trees (including Tree Beard!). It was quite a feeling being able to walk the trail and listen to the trees creaking as they swayed in the breeze. I had the luxury of not having any other folks around me as I walked through the forest, so no extraneous noises except my own breathing (and my puppy's nails).

Beautiful! Accessible and also good for a nice hike. Lots of mosquitoes (end of may).Impressive work from the volunteers making the boardwalks!

A super easy and short hike. There are 2 trails. One go to a biggest and oldest tree in the forest. The other one goes to a waterfall. I believe this hike is also wheelchair accessible. There is always lots of room to park and it is not busy. It is really nice to see a rain forest. The trees are huge and the vegetation looks much different compared to other forests. It is beautiful both in winter and summer

Best special place ever looks like you are on Vancouver Island in a full rain forest. Beautiful, tribute to Terry Fox who ran through PG. 10/10 nice boardwalk too.

A great place to stretch your legs out and spend some time roaming around and admiring the forest. I didn't realize there were cedars so far north, so this was a great little treat. The wheelchair accessible ramp and boardwalk is a nice and inclusive addition to allow all abilities the pleasure of forest bathing!
