Came here twice in three nights back in April. Amazing food and service. They had a dish that is sizzling tuna, looks good but it smokes the restaurant out.

NORI JAPANESE RESTAURANT
We had dinner today at Nori. The Flaming Viper, Toro sashimi and AMA-Ebi sashimi are good. We decided to order a Ebi Oshi Sushi for to-go. We requested two sets of chopsticks and it was written on the package bag. However, only one pair is inside. This is wired.

I can't believe that I can find such wonderful Japanese sushi restaurant in Nanaimo, I am here as an tourism, even though there are a lot of good Japanese restaurant in Vancouver but I have to say NORI can beats 99.9% of sushi restaurant in Van. People who come Nanaimo definitely needs to come to try. Wish they can open one in Vancouver.

Nori has been a favourite since we found it in 2019…John and his team continue to exceeded our Omakase experience. From dining inn, enjoying lunch and dinner, to our pandemic parking lot sushi fixes when dining in wasn’t possible.

Miso soup was really good but the rolls were mediocre compared to Vancouver restaurants - but, I would say this is likely the best sushi you can get in this area. Rolls were very salty and overpowered the flavour of everything inside. (D.A.M. Good Roll + Roll 911)

If you visit Nanaimo, I believe it is definitely worth to try here.It’s a very busy place with a good vibe.Most of the dishes are unique however some rolls were just very mediocre.They have rotating Sake flight as well if you want to try.They are a bit overpriced I believe but it’s worth to try for sure

I'm from Vancouver where there is an abundance of sushi restaurants, but I was still so blown away by the quality of sushi offered at Nori! The plating of the food is gorgeous, and the taste is even better. Definitely stop by before you get on the ferry!

This is hands-down the best sushi I have ever had! Every aspect about our visit was absolutely amazing. The service was impeccable, and although the restaurant doesn’t have an excessive amount of seating it had a great ambiance to it. They had an amazing list of cocktails and drinks and each flavour of their fruit sake was amazing! We ended up trying their Omakase menu and it did not disappoint. The sashimi was so fresh and melted in your mouth. The lobster tail was cooked to perfection and each and every sushi we tried was delicious. My personal favourite was the Hotate pressed sushi, I could’ve eaten 20 of those! They also brought BBQ fish out on a flaming plate which was incredible. And to finish the night our dessert was also phenomenal! Could not have been happier about our experience!

NORI JAPANESE RESTAURANT
We love Japanese food and this meal is definitely in our top three outside of Japan. The food was amazing, the sashimi wonderfully thick cut. The nigri with only a small amount of rice and the tasty fish hanging nicely over to both sides. The selection we had with the Omakase four course menu was outstanding. Thank you very much.
