Coles

No new titles in anything but local titles for over 10years. No way to search products. No sports. No automotive

Staff are pleasant. Inventory not as extensive as Chapter's. I have had many trips to Coles but unable to find what I am looking for. I just go to Amazon Canada or Chapter's.

I have spent a lot of time and money in this place over the 25 years. They used to have a much larger science fiction section than currently and this enabled me to really build my library. But even though it is not as large as it used to be, they are really helpful in any orders that I make, any recommendations that I would like to review and even bringing in a book or two to help me out.

I placed an order online. My expected in-store pickup date was Friday, Feb 12 before we had to retreat to Alert Level 5. Anyway, this store temporarily closed before that and they didn't even bother to contact me or notify me about the temporary closure or what that would mean to my order which was due for pick-up (which is also a gift for a dear friend). I had to call the customer service line to get an update. Luckily the lady on the line sorted this out for me.

Absolutely horrifying customer service over the phone and I will never call or ever recommend Coles to anyone. I understand indigo search is impossible at the moment and I’ve been very patient. I was currently at chapters and had a gentleman try and help me find a book under two sections - fiction and philosophy (which made sense for the novel I was looking for), we searched physically - no luck. So i decided to call Coles in any hope that before I ventured there physically someone might be able to check and see if the literature was available. The female worker made me feel completely worthless, idiotic and was completely curt arguing with me that a book could not be under both sections of fiction or philosophy - not explaining - but literally arguing with me in a loud, demeaning tone. I spelled the name of the writer - she said yeah I’ll go and check - waited on the phone for a few seconds and said “yeah its not there” like I would believe that she had checked that fast and said yeah have a nice day extremely curtly. She never asked anyone to check for her.I have worked myself at the avalon mall during system issues myself before and understand that stress is an understatement but to be talked to like that for simply asking to check. Not good enough. I hope no one else had or has to deal with disgusting wrath today or ever again. I made the call at 2:31 pm.

Shopped at Coles in the Avalon Mall. Eye catching selection of Christmas books outside the store drew me to purchase one and enter the store. Clean and neatly laid out. Sales associates friendly and knowledgeable about book selection and loyalty programs.

Need a book? Here you go! Easy to find a book you like because its super organised. Has teen sections. Kid sections. Adult sections and MORE! Has frequent sales too! 5/5 from me :D

Went to this store to get a particular book I had found online through indigo, said it was in stock and priced at $30. Found the book and got to checkout and it was sold at cover price while their online Price was 17 dollars's cheaper. I politely asked the cashier to match, as I've done this in the past at a different location but she was very rude and dismissive that I asked, stating the price is the price and to go ahead and tap. I told her it is really silly that I can order in store pickup and have them shop for me, for cheaper then I can do it myself but that's what I did at a different location. Site Made me wait a few hours but that's okay

I just went to Cole's Avalon mall worst experience ever. The lady who I won't mention her name was on her phone but you could tell she was on a personal call and took a minute to serve me which I understand. I was looking for grief books and as she was trying to show me what they had and they had nothing she got another personal call and walked away. Worst service ever. This was today March 7 at approx1
