Solid Wood Bed & Table

Had a great experience here looking for a dining set. Doug was busy with another customer, so his colleague gave us a nice lesson on wood types and lots of information about quality woodworking, which was really informative, and occupied us while we waited to speak to Doug. We weren’t ready to buy and we were not pressured in any way to make a rush purchase re: Boxing Day sales. Such a pleasant experience, I would love to return and make a purchase from these kind and knowledgeable people!

Ordered our 9’ dining table with matching chairs and bench here. Best money we ever spent. The first 10 years of our marriage we bought from the brick, Leon’s, etc. and all their furniture wears quickly and is often made with cheap hardware. At Solid Wood, Doug Jr and Sr made the ordering experience very pleasant. Very knowledgeable, not pushy (unlike other retailers) and accommodating. We just ordered our barstools and soon our hutch. We’ve had so many compliments on our dining set. We highly recommend this place!!

DO NOT RECOMMEND. Our experience was similar to Brenda Isakow so high reviews here are very suspicious. Our dining table was promised in 8-10 weeks but was over 6 weeks delayed. Solid wood never had an answer to explain the delay. They promised to look into it" and call back multiple times

We just had our custom made hall table delivered and we really like it. Price was fair, delivery was on time and they listened to our requests. We have had custom solid wood furniture made elsewhere before and there were always issues. This was seamless. Friendly service with no pressure. Thanks guys we love the table. It is better than our expectations

The Solidwood guys are fabulous. I had a table made nine years ago. It is an extremely large fabulous table that my family has really enjoyed. I started having problems getting it to close properly. The solidwood guys came, fixed the table and showed me what the problem was. The company produces terrific furniture with super service. I have ordered numerous pieces over the years and have been super pleased with the each and every piece. They definitely deserve a five star rating.

We just received our dining set, and it has surpassed our expectations! It’s so beautiful and the quality is exceptional. Chris and all the staff at Solid Wood were so helpful and knowledgeable! We are so happy with our new set and would highly recommend the store for all your furniture needs!

I am a very very happy customer of Solid Wood Bed & Table. Earlier this year, I purchased a king and queen bedroom suite from them which I customized with their input as to design and colour. It arrived in absolutely perfect condition. They are truly beautiful pieces, with superior craftsmanship and complete colour consistency. I was so impressed with their product and service, I’ve just now returned and purchased kitchen and dining room furniture from them. Without their input on my recent purchase, I would have chosen poorly matching fabric and wood colours to my floor tile and countertop. I am not a friend or a neighbour of the owners. I am a retired homeowner from Cobourg, willing to travel the distance to receive the quality of product and service that they have provided. Anyone looking to purchase furniture from a company that has a complete understanding of the products they offer paired with great service would be well advised to attend their store and speak with one of their representatives. We were looking for a custom piece and received lots help in accomplishing that. The final product was beautiful, fit into the space perfectly and we now receive lots of compliments from visitors. It was well worth the wait for the custom piece and the owners were always friendly.

Great long lasting, quality furniture, stain colour choices and finish. Can also help with design and build of new furniture pieces. Highly recommend.

The quality and look of the final product was amazing but the service was one of the worst I have ever experienced. Our dining room table arrived 6 weeks late, that would have been understandable if there had been some respectful communication both ways but that was not the case. I would call for an update and be told that they would follow up and call back but they never did. My wife wrote a review reflecting the experience we had and as a result I received and angry phone call from the son of the owner saying we were being babies and unreasonable. All we wanted was some communication and transparency (we understand delays happen) but consistently we were met with attitude and dismissal from the company. Solid Wood did discount the final price by $100 but the source of our frustration and the reason for the low review has been the way they have dealt with us along the way, very disrespectful very rude. Great final product, but some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
