Gold Hair Lounge downtown hair salon

I had a Victorian themed function to attend and had no idea on how to do my hair. Marina was amazing and found the perfect style. I would highly recommend anyone in the Victoria area in the need of hair dressing services to go to Gold Hair Lounge.

Marina was so awesome! I got a long length cut and permanent dye and paid $70 for the cut and $125 for the colour, not terrible. I decided to go more of a natural brown and ditch the ginger tone I’ve kept for the last while. Marina did an amazing job and was so excited throughout my hair journey. You know the cut and colour is gonna be good when your stylist is even more excited than you! My hair is so shiny and still so healthy. Definitely recommend this salon

I have never had such an excellent treatment of my hair! The staff is extremely friendly and take great care of you. I have a bias towards jiulia, she is amazing at what she does. There was great attention taken to the care of me hair and what I wanted to do with it.

Mary was excellent - she is an incredible hair dresser and stylist...it was my first time here and I was not disappointed! Will definitely be going back. Thank you Mary for a wonderful experience and hair cut. So thrilled!

Definitely not recommend this place. I’ve booked appointment nearly two weeks in advance to the certain specialist. I had an event to attend that day, so I wanted to do blow dry. When I arrived at my time I’ve been told that they changed my appointment and I have to go to the other specialist. They didn’t even notify me about that. As I had no choice left I had to accept this change. New specialist was still busy at my time, so two other people washed my hair and dried it. Then my specialist finally pick me up and spent soooo much time doing regular blowdry and straightening. I’ve spent 2 hours there and they charged me for $63 for this. What kind of customer service is this? Changed my appointment, didn’t notify me, gave me specialist that have no idea for to do regular blowdry and charged me more than said on the website. Really disappointed with this place.

Juned is awesome. Super skilled with colour. He was able to correct a box dye mistake I made myself with ease. Excellent haircut as well! Comfortable atmosphere in salon. Would recommend.

I have been to this salon twice now and I have nothing but good things to say! This was my first time with Juned. He listened to my requests and was able to exceed my expectations. I showed him pictures of what I wanted and my hair turned out SO much better. He really took his time and didn’t rush or get frustrated when he saw how thick my hair was. He was friendly and thorough. I will definitely be returning for my next haircut! :)

Juned, who has cut my hair here many times is excellent. Unfortunately this salon is poorly managed, the staff are stressed and unfriendly and I was passed to 3 different people during my last appointment. My appointment was also re scheduled 3 times, and as it was for my bridal hair colour - I had to come in on a workday to get it done which made me miss 3 meetings.I left with no haircut (because they didn't have time), a hair colour that is far more red than I asked for, as well as paid double what I normally pay.I have also reached out twice via email to get the situation remedied and heard nothing back.Disappointing and unprofessional for a salon that claims to be luxury.

*EDIT* I just received a text from the salon offering to fix my hair so I am changing my review from 2 to 4 stars because I understand that hair is tricky, everyone has off days and the text shows good business practiceI came to Gold today after booking a cut with highlights and lowlights. The stylist suggested just doing lowlights, as I already had very light bleached hair, which I thought was a smart move.The cut & blow-dry were done beautifully, but as you can see in the pictures, the brown root colour (which I didn't ask for, but hey ho) was blended in super weirdly with some random little patches.I didn't notice this until I got home and looked at my hair more closely, and as someone who is a doormat through and through, I naturally didn't say anything about the really dark root colour when I was in the chair (100% my bad for not saying something then and there, I just didn't realize how dark it was going to turn out).The stylist was super nice, the salon itself was beautiful and I think the vibes there are great, but I am just not sure how I ended up getting something so different from what I asked for and from the reference pictures I had.
