The Spy Store

I wanted some gear, this store had an awesome selection and all the info I needed to make an informed buy, and I got a great deal. I saw these reviews and wondered what was up, but there were no other options so went in anyways. I can only imagine there's quite a few meatballs looking for spy gear, acting all weird and schizo and they get the door. My experience, a guy who is certifiably normal, was that I was treated with respect and good info.

The Spy Store provides simply the worst customer service I have ever seen!! They also carry inferior products and offer only 3 month warranties on equipment (when it’s supposed to be a year for the equipment I bought)! They have several competitors that may not be local but they will send it to you in just a few days!! You will be so much happier if you simply go elsewhere! How they handle things at the Spy Store is unbelievable. The Calgary location is absolutely the worst though, much worse than this Surrey location, if you can believe it!! As well I learned that the 3 month warranty they offered me on my PV500 is their" warranty period and not the manufacturers. The manufacturer’s warranty is actually a year

I cannot speak highly enough of the level of professionalism which comes with the products which are of the highest quality and got me great results. The friendly and helpful after service I have found to be without paralell. All in all I would give this company full marks. Many thanks to them for their time trouble and last but not least understanding and friendliness

Great service, willing to explain the differences between everything, helpful and knowledgable. My only disappointment is that I called back and left a voicemail with questions and never heard back from anyone. Otherwise the service is fantastic and the prices are average. Items work like a charm though!

The owner or co-owner was a complete idiot. I go in there not knowing anything and he's all over me trying to get me to commit to a sale which you'd swear you were bartering for a mafia hit. Worst salesman ever! and after i told him let me look around on my own he asked me to leave so he could deal with serious customers. I wish i could speak more blunt about the experience but wouldn't want to stoop to his level

I think the guys more interested in whatever he has going on out the back door than actually assisting customers like one would expect from a real store, it's not the clientele that is the problem it's their employees or lack thereof. You apparently need an appointment to browse there but they could really use a salesperson with some people skills, not that I was impressed with the technical know how either, just simply that we were not worth the time to sell to. Perhaps the website is a better idea Sony dont have to deal with ppl. I was supposed to have model numbers ready to go not but I didn't so maybe my bad

The store is easy to find and In an area with lots of parking.I really like the fact that the staff was very knowledgable and helped me find exactly what I was looking for, without trying to be pushy or sell me something more expensive.I highly recommend doing your research before going in . I did my research before going in and it helped me better ask the right questions and save me time and money.The prices were definitely reasonable and competitive.I highly recommend the spy store to anyone looking for security products.

I tried going to this store in Calgary during the early afternoon on a weekday and both times the door was locked but it looked like someone was inside. They advertise they’re open until 6pm. Must a front for money laundering since they clearly don’t want to work.

Staff lie and tell you that products do this and that when in fact the products don’t even come close. I wonder how many times this has happened. Well I purchased night vision and was told it was this when in fact its not. My old Sony camcorder makes a better view at night then this. I will try to take it back because I was sold a product that doesnt do what they claimed it would. I will post on here tomorrow as to what happens.SO I FORGOT TO PUT THIS FURTHER REVIEW ON. THEY DONT DO RETURNS!!!! Furthermore I see a couple of 5 star reviews that look to be BS. I always look at who does the review come from and if they have more then 1 review also I looked at one and his only reviews are spy store 3 locations (all 5 star) and a bad review on a competitors business . That tells me only one thing STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS STORE!!!!!! That being said I did have 2 dealings in the Vancouver store and way different customer service (good service). Also back when spy store was on 17ave downtown in 2002-4 I did a lot of business with the spy shop and it was very good service and not a rip-off show. Not sure if new owners now but it used to be a decent place. Sucks that the owners just don’t get the hint hence no reply’s by owner on here and they a oblivious to the fact people read reviews before going there. I just gave them a chance because they used to be good and now they showed me as to why all bad reviews. They even lie to sell something cause once you buy it tooooo baddddd. Its your $$$$ artifact now lol. Save a headache and do some research and buy anywhere else but here. Hope a new competition store opens up!!!!! Hopefully this honest review will help you.

Staff was 15 minutes late opening the store. When we finally got in he was very rude. Unwilling to help at all and basically kicked us out of the store saying there was no browsing although the website or even the door stated it.We were looking to buy security cameras but wasn't interested in making a sale at all.Will never return to this store
