Our strata complex uses this company for yearly smoke detector inspections. They allow no flexibility with when they come to your unit, you have to be home and available the entire day from 9-5. I work shift work so this is especially annoying when I’m trying to sleep during the day. Only a month after their last inspection, our alarm started beeping - turns out the alarm needs to be replaced every 5 years and it was 2 years expired.. would think this would have been noticed in the last 2 inspections. I had to let strata know and then they had them come back and replace them using up another whole day I had to be home and available for them.

Service is professional and friendly with emphasis on safety. Ask for Scott, fantastic technician and general nice guy to deal with.If this company isn't your businesses preferred source for fire protection then you may want to reconsider where you are spending your preventative maintenance budget.

We tried Vanco for our new business based on a friends referral, and we couldn’t be happier we did!! The technician, Scott, came to our business, worked quickly and professionally, and was very courteous as we continued on with our day as he worked. Tried this firm (with our Strata) over a year ago. Although they came to our Strata building, they missed our unit and our appointment. Additional fees tacked onto backflow inspection that seemed redundant. After failing our backflow, they could not service them without another expensive appointment. Lots of blank expressions.

Completely unprofessional. They knocked on the door to see if anyone was home, and since I forgot to lock the door, they just opened it on their own without my consent. I was still unchanged at this time and they just decided to come in anyways. They rushed to test the smoke detector, radioed to their coworker that a new smoke detector was needed, and left without even explaining what they found. The supervisor" was also present and tried to lecture me how I could be fined if I didn't have a proper smoke detector

Took 4 extinguishers in for HST service the middle of last week. We were told they would be ready on Monday. Today is Thursday so we called them. They did not contact us.

I am the Vice president of my strata.Vanco was one of the quotes gathered by the council after we had made the decision to terminate the contract of a fire safety company we were dissatisfied with.While their quote was realistically competitive and thoroughly researched, it was the local service that most appealed to us. Vanco is not a franchise, and are based out of Port Coquitlam; that local relationship made all the difference.The customer service was friendly, patient, and obliging and the inspection team were professional and expedient.It is because of the aforementioned that I have zero hesitation in recommending Mr. van Gaalen and his team at Vanco Fire Protection.

Exceptional fire protection company that will outwork most other companies of its kind. You'll also be hard pressed to find better sprinkler technicians as they employ some of the best in all of BC. Based on the sprinkler knowledge and expertise these are the guys I'd trust to take care of any building that has a sprinkler system installed.
