Anne-Marie Mougeot Osteopathy at Island Optimal

I started going to see Anne-Marie a few months ago and I cannot recommend her enough. I had never been to an osteopath before but now I see her regularly. She is so understanding and supportive with her patients and really takes the time to listen and support them. I have told everyone I can about osteopathy and told them to visit Anne-Marie! Thank you Anne-Marie!!!

This is my first experience with osteopathy, and I highly recommend Anne-Marie! She is kind, easy to talk to, and very knowledgable about the body. I already noticed improvements after doing her suggested stretches/exercises from our first virtual appointment and she has set me up with a great exercise program so I can go longer between in-person appointments to save money and wait for my health benefits to renew with the ultimate goal of not needing her help in the future!

Anne-Marie is one of the best medical practitioners that I've ever seen! She is so caring and dedicated to staying on top of new research. In the few sessions that I've had with Anne-Marie I have seen a huge improvement in my relationship with my body. I feel a lot less stress surrounding pain and more comfortable pushing my body safely. Can't recommend enough!

I used to see a chiropractor for routine re-alignments, but Anne-Marie is much more thorough, I'm getting better results, and I appreciate the gentle hands.

I am able to do things now that I have missed for many years because of pain. My care is now not solely focused on pain. Anne-Marie is helping heal my body in so many ways. The body is amazing, it will heal if you treat it right. Thank you so much Anne Marie, I feel so much better!As a very active person suffering from complex and persistent pain, I had ongoing soft tissue and tendon issues. Anne Marie's gentle movements and relaxation techniques helped eliminate the pain by using manual therapy. She treats the whole person, and developed a treatment plan addressing my needs. My needs were varied each week and each week my body was healing. I am a work in progress and feel blessed to have found her.

I went to Anne-Marie when my midwife recommended I see a cranial sacral specialist for my newborn. I was nervous about bringing him for a treatment at such a young age but Anne-Marie was wonderful and so gentle that my little guy stayed asleep the entire time. I now see her for my postpartum recovery and love how her osteo treatments are helping my body get back into alignment in a gentle and restorative way.

Prior to Osteopathy I was resigned to living with chronic jaw, neck and shoulder pain - low level constantly but with regular flare ups. Massage and physio just didn't provide me with any long lasting positive results. Anne-Marie's osteopathy and cranial sacral techniques have worked amazingly for me, with my jaw pain clearing after just 5 treatments! And my shoulder doing miles better after just 3 treatments. I really feel she listens to my words and my body. Anne-Marie is a very skilled, trained, and intuitive healer who is always looking to learn more and explore the science and apply her learning in every moment. Osteopathy, as she describes it, really teaches your nervous system to come out of defense mode and helps your body re-learn the healing movement that it needs to reduce pain. Anne-Marie’s treatments are like no other – she holds space for me and offers relief through gentle manipulation. I have dealt with low back pain for ~15 years, as well as a variety of other mental and physical stressors due to a busy, active lifestyle. She is always patient, understanding and kind. She respects my experiences and my wishes, and never asks me give up the things I love, just helps me think and move differently to move towards pain relief. She is forever furthering her knowledge and education to offer her clients the best treatments possible and is great at sending follow up emails to revisit the things we discussed.
