The staff Derrick is such a fun staff I enjoy being around him and he is always cool

I have worked here for the last 8 years and would definitely recommend it to any one in the child and youth worker field looking to work in the residential setting and gain valuable experience.

25 years ago we went on the search for a home to care for our than almost 8 year old son. We had 4 kids and we knew that my other children needed to realize that they were just as important as him. They we 10, 5 and 6 months. We went to many homes and when we finally met with DLC we knew we had found the place to care for our son.2 days before his 8th birthday he was placed in their care and has been there ever since and we would not change it at all.You see they care about these children and young adults and adults as if they are their family. We have had times at Easter and Thanksgiving where we could not take our son, and staff took him home with them, with our permission. How many homes would do something like that.He has received the best care that any parents could ask for. He is well cared for. He is happy with a great disposition. He loves the people in his home. To him we are still family but also the people he lives with are family also. We would say kids that go to this agency are very lucky.25 years later and we would not change a thing. DLC THANK YOU for making our son a part of your family and to all the staff for loving him as you all have Thank You to you also. Knowing he is in such caring hands has made having our son in care a very easy thing to do.

Friendly people

Staff are idiots and the owner, Debbie Lyn Curtis, is a lunatic. She’s a mean, spiteful, nasty woman who only cares about herself and her business. I had a dispute with her which ended up at Catholic children’s aid and she lost so out of revenge and spite she transferred my son 200 km to Belleville without my permission or consent as his father and guardian. In hindsight, I should have sued her. Deborah Lynn Curtis is an angry, vengeful, spiteful, hateful woman. And she isn’t fit to provide congregate care for hamsters. She couldn’t care less about the clients or their parents. Deborah Lynn Curtis is only motivated by money and power. Your child will be neglected and abused in DLC. My son was neglected and abused, both physically and emotionally in DLC! I’d give this place -5 stars if I could. I wouldn’t let my dog live in DLC. BEWARE! Fair warning!!! If you love your child, find somewhere else for them to live because DLC is a horrible place! Probably the worst in the country and one of the worst on the planet. I seriously wouldn’t let my dog live in DLC knowing what I know now.
