B&B Le Canadien

This is a very special place; you can see the love that both Sylvie and Yves both put into their restoration and transformation of the old stone house. I was the only visitor when i came to stay, and I only stayed one night as I was just passing through, but it was a truly an amazing and unforgettable experience. The bedrooms are beautiful, breakfast is a treat, and the couple’s pets are so sweet and happy! Both Yves and Sylvie are wonderful conversationalists as well, and i wished i could stay longer for everything. I’m coming back and bringing friends with me! Highly recommend staying with them!

This bed and breakfast is the most beautiful hotel we've stayed in. Built in 1792 and restored over ten years by the owner, the stone walls, beams and plank flooring are beautifully restored. The breakfast was the best breakfast we've ever been served. I can't say enough about this place. And affordable.The hosts are so friendly and accommodating.

Beautifully restored 1790's stone building, bedrooms with exposed original beams and modern bathrooms in each. The hosts are wonderful and the breakfast amazing. Highly recommended.

What a beautiful, thoughtful, and warm place to stay. We stayed at Le Canadien for one night on our way from Halifax to London, ON. When we turned into the property we were captivated by the appearance of the building; it's stunning to look at. We let ourselves into the front area and were soon met and shown to our room by Sylvie. The rooms are clean, spacious, cozy, and prepared with attention to detail. We loved the exposed brick, the beautiful wood, and the handmade furniture. After a comfortable sleep we made our way down to the two eating areas and choose to eat looking out over the horse paddock. The food was wonderful and Sylvie was incredibly attentive to our comfort. Before leaving we had a nice conversation with Yves about their work with horses on the property. His kindness was obvious and we were grateful to have met him. Lastly, and of note for those who travel with service animals. Sylvie and Yves were supportive of hosting us with our service dog in training. We absolutely recommend staying and hope to be back!

Amazing hosts, accommodation, surroundings, and food

Booked with Airbnb, a stellar (quiet) place to stay with top-notch customer service by the owners! I'd recommend anytime !The view on the river is pretty impressive too !

On our way home from Halifax to Peterborough. I normally book our rooms , but this time my husband did. He found this absolute gem.From the minute we arrived, Sylvia showed us around this beautiful building dating back to 1973. Our room was beautiful with the stone walls and wooden beams. The ensuite bedroom was very modern, obviously Sylvia and Yves, the owners have done everything right .We decided not to drive out for dinner, so Sylvia showed us the menu of a place she recommended, she called them and ordered on our behalf , as our French is almost non existent.The owners let us eat in the room dedicated for breakfast and gave us wine glasses. Afterwards they lit a fire in the large sitting area where we finished off our wine and marvelled at the furniture and the art.. Breakfast is served between 8-10 but Sylvia told us we certainly could come earlier we decided on 7:30, and it fact got the menu at 7:00. The menu is unbelievable, lots of choices, and yes as a previous reviewer said , best breakfast ever.Driving towards home we are still talking about this wonderful experience.Thanks to Sylvia and Yves
