The Kit Bunker

Same happened to me, made an order, paid and no communication. I cancelled the payment and gave up after weeks of waiting. think its out of business, or a new owner.

There are only a couple of large box store hobby shops in Edmonton. And, Rod's Kit Bunker fills a greatly needed model kit gap. Discontinued model kits, vintage model kits, and new model kits.I purchased vintage model kits of my youth i thought i would never see again and, i am close to 60 years old. Also, new model kits i have purchased too! There is always a model kit that i want! Competitive fantastic prices on ALL model kits. And no GST on ALL model kits, tools, paints and merchandise when picking up IN STORE ONLY! Great selection of hobbyist tools, glues and paints, most of all, the model selection.Great website to browse all the genres of model kits and supplies.You might find a model kit you always wanted! Or, for a gift to a fellow modeller. Great location. And lastly, Rod is a real nice guy, gives me deals, saves requested model kits for me, friendly and personable, and very knowledgeable. I absolutely recommend checking out his hobby store, website and model kits, you will be glad you did as a modeller and hobbyist. Check out Rod, on youtube!

Great spot for models and supplies. Rod was incredibly nice, gave me a good deal and some great tips for doing my model. He also has kits I've never seen anywhere else.Would highly recommend this spot!

I have purchased from the Kit Bunker a few years ago - at that time the experience was excellent, it was 5/5.My most recent experience was terrible. I placed an order, paid for it inclusive of shipping. I realized that the shop was only open on weekends, so I waited. After a week, and emailing for an update the owner got back to me. He told me that of the three items I ordered, one was not available, and asked if I wanted the remaining items. If I did want those items I was to respond and then wait for an invoice.After three weeks of waiting - and emailing on two occasions for an update, and no response - I left a review describing the experience. In that review I described my very positive first experience, and then described the frustration of my most recent experience.Surprisingly the owner then replied telling me that my items were ready to ship, but due to the negative review he was declining the sale. I could have ordered from a large online retailer, but I wanted to bring the business back to a small shop that once provided excellent service. Rather than attempting to correct a botched customer experience, the owner got mad and cancelled the sale.Leaving a customer hanging and wondering for three weeks, without the courtesy of a response is very frustrating. How a business owner cannot recognize dropping the ball like this is baffling. The Kit Bunker is a small business - I can see waiting up to a week, as he is only open on weekends, but three weeks??? Then to retaliate by cancelling a sale, over an honest description of a poor experience, rather than trying to work it out.The Kit Bunker must be under new management - hopefully this new owner can pull it together and offer the good service that was once offered.
