Golden Swan Restaurant
Long lasting Chinese restaurant that have been around for more than 20 years. They have maintained their quality throughout the years, but many other newer restaurants surpass them in inventing new dim sum creations and modern decor.

Some dishes were pretty good standard, some were less than average. Avoid the deep fried squid in particular (normally one of my favourites at dim sum) small, chewy and hard. The shrimp dumplings were nice tho. Green beans were also a little disappointing. Overall, mid range but there are better options close by.

Back in the day, I used to go to the Golden Swan for dimsum a lot. Dinner, not so much. But this was a special occasion, so dinner it was.We were seated at a relatively small table at first until we explained that we would be ordering a lot of dishes and would require a bigger table. The hostess had no problem with that, and we were swiftly moved to one of the tables that had a spinning glass sitting in the middle of it.We ordered a la carte items that made up what I like to call the 10 Course Meal". I hadn’t been here in decades until recently. We were here for a special occasion. This review is based on a pre-set luncheon. We started with a cold pate of jelly fish & BBQ pork, shark fin soup, soft tofu & mushroom dish, lobster, chicken, and sweet & sour pork chops. Everything was tasty & decent portions for a table of 10. The favourites were the tofu & sweet & sour pork (quite meaty). Unfortunately we did not have any dim sum.There’s limited free parking in front of the restaurant or street parking. Service was great in that they frequently replaced our dirty plates with clean plates. Service was prompt. We will be back for dim sum & dinner.

Busy place but very tasty food. Everything was delicious and hot. We had a large group of people and the service was great! Parking can be a bit tricky at dinner time but manageable.

We had a family Thanksgiving dinner here because it was less pricey that other Chinese restaurants with set menu choices for large groups. Even so, we each ended up paying $67 (including tax and tips). The service was great and the dishes came out quickly. Unfortunately, it was hit and miss when it came to taste. The cold plate items were quite salty and the lobster didn’t taste fresh. The rest were so-so to good. I especially liked the deep-fried flounders. So all-in-all, the food was decent.

Golden Swan Restaurant
It was our first time at Golden Swan, which was recommended to us by our friends. Despite the 3.8 star rating, we thoroughly enjoyed the food. The portions were large, and the food arrived quickly even though it was a busy Sunday morning. I was expecting we’d get most of the food from a passing cart, but they were instead bought by hand to our table. We’ll be back!

The Dim Sum was alright here I obviously had better elsewhere still not bad. But I do like that this place is still using carts to bring out the Dim Sum to people that something that is a rarity in Dim Sum places here.

We started the Year of the Rabbit at Golden Swan. We ordered multiples of every dim sum. Golden Swan does the dim sum staples well. Beef balls, pork siu mai, sticky rice, chicken feet, beef tendons, chinese donut wrapped with shredded dried pork etc.. For a family dim sum restaurant you can’t really go wrong here. Just don’t expect the best service. We could have used some hot sauce and extra chopsticks but no one really came around. When you pay for tea you kind of expect someone to come around and top up your tea or hot water too.
