Cool place to see, can be very windy. The signs are starting to show their age. A refresh or update is needed to the park. Feels a little run down or not used much. Grass coming up in the parking spots for example and signs that are weather/UV damaged. Still a great place to go see. Bring a picnic.

We had a lovely time camping here. We stayed at Cottonwood Campground for 3 nights. The campground was pretty quiet besides the one camper next to us using their generator, but they didn't use it very long and it was only during the day. There's a decent amount of shade at the campground itself, and when it got too hot during the day, there was lots of places to go play in some water and cool down. There's no potable water so make sure to bring plenty for your party. However, Pitcher Creek is only about a 10 minute drive, so if you do need something you can always drive there and pick up some stuff. The outhouses smelled terrible; but what else can you really expect from an outhouse? Just prepare yourself for it, lol. All in all, we had a really great time here and would love to go again.

In the dark we had a very difficult time finding this park. In the daylight we figured out why. The signs are worn out and the park is mislabeled (see picture). However, the park was clean and quiet and good for a one night stay.

Nice and quiet place. Clean water but not much activities around the lake.

I imagine when there's water this is an interesting place, but alas twas dry when I rolled up, the water levels so low I wondered will there be a major drought in southern Alberta's near future? Seems that way! Fun little spot to check out near Buffalo kill jump!

Pretty simple camp site with direct access to the lake. However, we realized half way through the night that this site is better for the wind farms then for tent camping. It was VERY windy.

Nice location, down river from the dam. No cell service in campground though, you need to drive to top of the hill to get service. RV Dump station is also located in a different campground near top of hill . Approx a two minute drive. Reservoir is huge, but not ideal for kayaking. Too large a body of water. Campground itself is good layout. I would recommend looking for a spot where you RV awning will open to east side of your unit. Can get the gust of the wind out of the west which isn''t good for your awning.

I think the review here a pretty harsh. I won’t lie that I was a little surprised to drive up and realize that campsite was next to a wind farm. But it was the perfect place to camp to set out to hike Crypt Lake in Watertown the next day. We stayed for 2 nights, and both nights for super windy, but in the morning the winds were calm and it was very relaxing. The campsite itself was very quiet at night, and the facilities were clean considering they were outhouses. It’s definitely not the campsite for you if you are looking for lots to do, but as a travel through it’s a great location. Just make sure you tie down your tent well! Also make sure you catch the fire wood person when they come around because they don’t always come as scheduled. I also saw reviews about lots of bugs, we went in July and we didn’t see any, but that’s probably because the wind kept them down
