Walter The Tailor

Went to Walter's store to get alteration on my suit and pants. He is super friendly and said he could do it on the spot even though I was a bit late. We chatted about chess and the bible while he finished the alternation even though it was last minute. Absolutely would recommend and definitely will come again!

Walter did an amazing job. Him and his wife were a joy to talk to and learn their history in the business. I grabbed a pair of pants last minute from Moore's and I went straight to Walter to get my pants fitting perfectly, major thanks to you Walter!

Awful attitude. Not sure if he's really as good as what the other reviewers say, but he was rude and dismissive and we didn't go forward with the alterations. His jokes" are pointed and aggressive. We certainly didn't feel welcomed."

I can’t let this one go, if I could give a lower rating than one star I would without a doubt! This man was incredibly rude and disrespectful, he was yelling the whole time and being very insulting towards us.. saying things like this is cheap material, asking about job titles and income. Essentially trying to humiliate us to order custom items from him.He continued to tell us he has been doing this for years and that we should just buy a $3000 custom from him and that we needed to earn more money to afford those items.His lovely wife tried to get him to stop with the comments and insults, but he ignored her and go about his way. At the start we humoured him and laughed most of it off but in the end it became unbearable and absolutely unacceptable. He yells and degrades you into paying his ridiculous amounts and forces you to pay the total amount upfront. The whole process was so was stressful we couldn’t even think or discuss amongst ourselves without him yelling at us.Once we left we couldn’t get over how awful that experience was and how we could have been treated so poorly after paying a high price for minor alterations. I am not sure how he has high ratings or maybe he has deteriorated recently. Nonetheless, if you want to pay high prices and be disrespected then this is the place for you. Honestly unsure how he is still open for business with that kind of behaviour.I am used to non western customers is always right model and have grown up in a country and culture that isn’t necessarily so nice and friendly, but this was very different and shocking.I really hope you do better in the future and treat people with respect!

Was very interesting to learn about Walter and talk with his wife and him! Did quick work even late at night when I came close to closing. Much appreciated!

Passive-aggressive, pushy, and pricey.I visited to ask for the cost to alter my dress. Instead of answering, the tailor talked about his Google Maps reviews and how I'd look so good in the dress. I had to repeat my question several times until he answered ($64).When he finally realized I just wanted a quote, he shamed and guilt tripped me for doing this to an immigrant business owner, and told me to get out.The poor customer service isn't worth the price. I easily found someplace that was $35 and they didn't act inappropriately with me at all.

Definitely one of the most skilled and dependable tailors locally, always very friendly and efficient service. I would trust him to work on any of my clothing.

Walter stayed until 9pm for my suits while all other tailor shop was closed. I was in a rush but him certainly saved me! The result was also great and professional

Kind, courteous, professional, and willing to take rush adjustment jobs - turnaround time was quick, I dropped off my suit in the morning and he said he could have it done for pickup that same night. I'd recommend Walter for anyone needing a quality tailor in Richmond.

Bought a brand new suit from Moore's nearby and they referred me to Walter's alteration store which is just a walkable distance and Walter is a very humorous and entertaining guy and best at what he does! Highly recommend this place!
