James worked with my wife and I to create a beautiful, distinctive, and functional lakeside home which perfectly suits our site on the lake.

James has a fantastic crew of tradesmen, that produced a beautiful, yet complex remodel of our deck. James was always in good contact, and very transparent with costs, and whether we were able to stick to budget or not. The nice part with working with Lakeside was that he was able to pull drawings required for permits all within the scope of the contract. Our project did go over budget, but that was mainly due to the logistics and our preferences in materials and design. Having a crew of trades that actually showed up on time and left on time in Huntsville is few and far between, they were professionals and very skilled at their craft. Thanks again!

I used This architect a number of years ago and it ended in disaster. His design did not conform to local zoning laws which he did not bother to research sufficiently and I fired him as a result and lodged a complaint with the Architect’s Board. Avoid using at all costs.

We have worked with James on several projects. In 2009 he designed our 6500 square foot cottage on Muskoka Bay. Since we built, he has come out to our property on numerous occasions and the cottage has been showcased in several magazines. He is very knowledgeable of local bylaws which has facilitated the acquisition of permits and variances. He would think outside the box in developing a property with challenging topography. James is highly creative and and was able to merge my more traditional ideas and my wife’s more modern taste. We are currently (2022) working with James on a third project. Over the last 12 years we have developed a great working relationship with James.
