The Book Shop

I LOVE this book shop!There's always a fantastic selection and, despite the large number of books they have, the people who work there really know their stuff and can direct to the exact book you're looking for, no matter how obscure (even if you don't know the author, or even the exact title).For me, it's like being a kid in a candy store.I always look forward to spending some time perusing their wonderful collection!

I went there to sell some books and the lady that I talked on the phone meet me in the back of the building and bought most of my books which I was happy. Also the gentleman that help was friendly. It didn't take long to go threw the books they were pretty quick. I had almost 180 books give or take they took155 which was great then I donated the rest of the books to a book store and Arts I think. It's on main Street in Osoyoos same block as Shoppers Drug Store. It's called Wayside Select Books & Art 8317 Main Street Osoyoos bc

I stepped out positively overwhelmed by the sheer size and choice of books in the store. Well organized for second hand, most books range from 4 to 10 $CA. Staff was friendly and discreet. Probably the best book store in the Okanagan.

Not that great. Skip it. I went to check it out because it was listed as top 10 things to do in Penticton and I like books. I was hoping for a relaxing place to saunter around wail enjoying the smell of old books and perhaps finding a new favorite affordable read. Instead, it was cramped, expensive, and the staff stared at my kids like they were shop-lifers. At one point one staff member told my son to put down a book he was looking at. It was on the shelf, for sale, he's seven and fully capable of reading and picking out his own book. He was simply looking at it, if my phone hadn't rang at that moment I would have helped my son navigate that interaction but he politely put it back and that was that. If I had to sum up this place in two words I would say Pretentious & disappointing"."

Always badass selection of books, have almost always found one book by whatever half obscure author I was looking for at the moment

This place is an absolute treasure! Not only were the staff incredibly helpful and engaged but the amount of books in this one spot spanning throughout... the history of books almost... is incredible. I found some childhood favorites and some new ones and several for my son to read. The prices are really fair and the books are in great shape. We walked out with some really great books and can't wait to come back!

I enjoy traveling around the world when possible and make a point of visiting any notable book store I can. Without a doubt, this is still my absolute favorite bookstore I have ever visited. Definitely come and check it out.

Really neat spot with lots and lots of books. Staff is friendly and helpful... This is a place you could get lost in for hours while going through the selection. Real old time bookshop feel.

Wow it's unbelievable how many books they have in that store. Always new material coming thru. The staff were very engaging.

Love this store. I sold a bunch of books to them. They were so kind. Got my credit and everything they couldn't keep they offered to donate for me. Lots of character. Must go when in Pen
