Park Lane Parkade

It's the place to park, in the HRM. Not downtown, but close enough. With construction going on in the downtown core. This would be the place to park if visiting the HRM.

Today I wasn’t planning on parking in this garage but due to driving around to find a spot and being almost late to my appointment I decided to do so. I pulled up and hit the green button twice, the gate opened and the monitor told me to drive through. I didn’t get issued a ticket which I thought was weird but was in a rush and once again the gate opened and a message popped up on the screen saying to drive through. I was in the parking garage for 20 minutes! I went to go to the pay machine and hit the get help button, I then explained my situation and the security guard came to speak to me. All he kept saying is if you have a lost ticket you need to pay $20 …. 1. I DID NOT lose my ticket, I was never issued one after hitting the button TWICE. 2. I could not justify paying $20 for 20 minutes out of principal I asked to speak to someone else which I was then given a number to a manager I’m assuming. I called and he kept repeating the same thing it’s corporates policy. I totally understand that but I did nothing wrong and out of principal I just couldn’t justify it. I was hoping for better customer service but was told nothing could be done. I’m so frustrated and will never choose to park here again.

Had an upsetting experience tonight with a parking ticking issue. When I pulled into the parkade, I pressed the green button to receive a ticket but nothing came out and the gate opened. I pressed the button multiple times to get a ticket but nothing came out and we were late for our dinner reservation so we just parked and left. A friend said that I should just press the assistance/help button on the way out to explain what’s happening and they’ll help sort it out so an hour and a half later I did and not only was I told that I had to pay for a lost ticket cost ($20 instead of $1/hr for parking after 6pm) but I was also told that there’s no way the gate would open if a ticket wasn’t issued and that they’ve never had a complaint about that happening before either. After reading other reviews, that’s clearly not the case and I suggested that maybe it was out of paper or jammed but no, he said “that’s not possible, you’ll just have to pay the lost ticket fee” and then hung up. I’m incredibly disappointed with the customer service person who was working tonight, although he was trying to stay pleasant, he was clearly unwilling to help or listen to my concerns. I’m sorry for everyone else who’s also had this issue, I can’t believe this is considered acceptable.

Easy to find and cheap on a Saturday night! We didn’t have a walk way out of the garage though, so if there were cars coming we’d have to stop and get out of the way

They have an extremely annoying alarm that goes off in the middle of the night, waking up / keeping up many people living nearby, who have no need to be alerted of the usually false alarms coming from this place. As I write, 1:30 in the morning (with a 6 am wake up ahead of me), the usual alarm is blaring out from it (and I do not even live right next to this parking garage, just nearby, to give a sense of just how ridiculously loud it is). My impression is that the most likely absentee business owner does not have to live next to this piercingly loud eye sore.

Not too bad. I like that they had parking on the side for taller vehicles.

Lots of space but may need to drive up at least a few levels to find a spot. A bit pricey but considering location, not unreasonable. Producing credit card on entry means quicker departure as don't need to go into mall to pay. Easy access from elevator to Dresden, mall and spring garden.

I like how you can swipe your credit card when you enter and then when you leave without worrying about tickets and receipts
