Hands in Harmony Piano Studio

As an adult relearning how to play piano, I'm enjoying my lessons immensely. Debbie is an excellent teacher and I very much enjoy the Simply Music format. Debbie explains concepts clearly and concisely. My lessons are adapted to focus on my personal learning preferences and goals. The studio is very comfortable and suitable for learners of all ages. Highly recommend.

I can't say enough about Debbie and Hands in Harmony. As a program it is fantastic. The speed at which my son started playing songs was incredible, and is what I credit as the reason he has stuck with piano lessons. As an instructor Debbie has a gift for picking up on just what my son needs to stay motivated and interested. I NEVER have to tell my son to practice. He loves it and I love hearing him progress.

Debbie has been such a great piano teacher for our two girls. She uses the Simply Music program to its fullest and makes learning piano enjoyable. As parents who have studied music, we wished our son would learn to play the piano as well. The challenge was to find an instructor who would have the ability to teach a high functioning autistic child. I found Debbie through a friend and learned more about the Simply Music method. We have been thrilled with Hands in Harmony Piano Studio since our children began taking lessons three years ago. All of our children take weekly lessons under the careful teaching of owner Debbie Trefz. Not only have our children developed excellent musical skills, they’ve also grown in confidence. Debbie is fun, positive and patient, and encourages each one to keep persevering through difficult musical pieces. She is excellent at strategizing with them on how to overcome problem areas, and makes the process enjoyable. Debbie teaches piano using the Simply Music program. We love this program as it has taken much of the frustration out of learning piano that we experienced as children. When you learn to speak as a toddler, do you start writing or reading? Neither! You experiment with words by speaking them. You practise saying the words and phrases that are modelled for you. Similarly, Simply Music gets your child playing songs right away; it's a wonderful way for students to start learning to play the piano with success. Mrs. Trefz is the perfect balance of calm, musical ability, and leadership to help children (like mine) learn to play the piano.
