Probably the best of best trails along the Cabot trail. Stunning views. Did the loop, it was about 9km. The north side had nothing to see, while the views to the south side were breathtaking. Arrived first at the higher platform, then descending to the lower platform. At each step, you get a different view angle. If you had to hike only one trail along the Cabot trail, this is the one.

Beautiful walking trail it took nearly an hour to walk to end of it to see the complete trail but it’s worth it for it’s beautiful fall colors and nice views on top hill

Enjoyed this hike late September to try and capture a sunset. And although the set itself was hidden in the clouds the view did not disappoint. You have the option of a 6.4km there and back or 8+ Km loop. There are washrooms at the entrance and mid trail. I would highly recommend bringing lights for the walk back if going for sunset. We had the opportunity to see a moose on the way back.

Don’t do the loop - that takes longer and there’s nothing much to see. But if you just want to do the hike then absolutely do the loop. Amazing views on top of the trail. Must see in Cape Breton!

It's not a particularly challenging or interesting trail. The lookout is nice, but it requires specific timing during the day, year, or sunlight conditions to fully appreciate. Otherwise, it offers a fairly basic view.I would suggest taking a loop instead of the out-and-back version, as the forest itself has its own unique charm. If you are seeking a more engaging and challenging trail in the area, I recommend trying the Money Point Trail.

A nice forested trail that leads to a stunning view! I recommend going at sunset. Do the loop so you can hit up all of the lookouts.

This trail was educational and beautiful, and took us 2.5 hours to walk to the boardwalk and back. At the fork, we went clockwise (starting at the left side of the loop). 1/4 of the trail was barren land and while reading the information signs, we learned that it was because moose ate so many of the plants that they had to gate the area to allow for regrowth. We saw a few lookout areas, but the real star of the entire trail was the boardwalk. The boardwalk stretched down to a cliff area, with platforms and benches along the way. It was so peaceful, and we couldn’t resist walking all the way to the cliff. We didn’t complete the entire loop of the trail after climbing back up the boardwalk area, but it was well worth the hike and if you can spend longer than 3 hours here to do the full loop and really take in the views, do it.

The 7th trail once you enter Cape Breton National Park from the Cheticamp side of Cabot Trail. You can do the straight to the stairs and view point by sticking to the left once you hit the fork or go right and do the full loop. A fairly flat walking trail and even saw someone take a pram with them. There are stairs at the end you don’t have to do to enjoy the view, so really is an all age trail. Gorgeous blue sky day with low winds, but it can pick up very quickly and get chilly. We went late May and I was wearing a toque at the start of the trail. You can easily do the loop (9.2km) in about 90 min on a fast pace without being breathless. It’s a favourite for most visitors as it’s an easy trail and you get a stunning view of the Cabot trails winding road and sea side.

It’s a 6-7 km round trip hike (if you do the loop it’s 7.2ish km). The main view point is around 3km from the trailhead. It’s worth spending an hour or so there by just relaxing and enjoying the view. If it’s a windy day, going down to the end of the stairs can be tricky as the gusts can be pretty strong (it was around 50-60kmh when we went there). But it’s worth the view.
